On tap. Molasses aroma. Dark brown opaque. Malty, chocolaty flavors. Sweet and light for a stout. Creamy mouthfeel. Good. pinkzambia (2069) - Boise, Idaho, USA - OCT 2, 2006
Tap at brewpub:Black with yellowish brown head. The aroma is burnt malts and the taste is sweet, almost a little cough syrup like. The feel is the classic thin slick feel of the oatmeal stouts. This one is really good. jimhilt (2620) - Bow, New Hampshire, USA - JUN 14, 2006
Served on tap - nitro (16oz glass, $3.75) at the Town Hall Brewery Minneapolis, Mn. Pours with one finger tan head that goes slowly leaving a good lace. Black color. Light carbonation and full bodied. Hints of coffee and smoky nose. Starts balanced and very smooth, finish has some roasted/burnt coffee flavor. The ABV is 6.0%. undsioux7 (876) - Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA - JUN 2, 2006
on tap at town hall brewery. Almost black with a dark tan head. Very thin compared to other oatmeal stouts I have had. Just not much taste. Didn’t offend though. Lumpy (1802) - Carrollton, Texas, USA - MAY 28, 2006
Tap at brewpub. Good looking nearly opaque body with a dense head. Wet used coffee grounds nose. Tate-slight coffee, slightly lactic, thin but in a good way. A firm stout well done through and through.

a big thanks goes to hellomynameis for this growler of beer. had this earlier this month. poured a dark brown to black with a nice sized tan head. aroma, roasted malts, caramel, chocolate, dark cherries a nice sweetness just lingers over the top of the glass. flavor the sweetness is just right for me , got chocolate covered cherries, malts, a touch of vanilla. mouthfeel was a little on the thin side that just made it a very easy drinking beer I just kept filling my glass I think I drank 3/4 of the growler in a very short period time (like 45 min.) footbalm (1219) - Western Minneapolis Suburbs, Minnesota, USA - APR 22, 2006
A very dark brew with a nice tan head.
Nose is heavy on the roasty toasty malts but the is an underlying graininess that lends some depth to this.It was just a little thin for me but very enjoyable. jimmyh221 (157) - Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, USA - MAR 26, 2006
It was dark brown in color with a nice head. It had a nice smooth flavor with a taste of coffe. Of all the beers I tried at Town Hall, this was the one I enjoyed the most. TomDecapolis (4618) - Milton, Delaware, USA - FEB 9, 2006
Thanks to hopdog for landing this growler. Pours a dark, dark brown with a large fluffy tan head. The more I poured from this growler into larger glasses the larger and more pronounced the head. Aroma of milk chocolate, tabacco, cherry, strawberry Twizzler and oatmeal. Really a lot going on in this aroma. Flavor was more smokey, chocolate and oatmeal. hopdog (12953) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 9, 2006
Tasted from Growler acquired in trade with kms399 (thanks!). Poured a dark, dark brown color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas, which increased in coplexity as the beer warmed, of tobacco, smoke, light oatmeal, chocolate, some dark fruits and roasted malts. I got something different everytime I smelled this one. Tastes of chocolate, raisins, and oatmeal. I found the tastes not as complex as the aromas. Smooth body with some lacing.
