On tap at Town Hall. Pours a black color with white head. Oatmeal, chocolate, roasty flavors. Good. Ericular (1020) - Minnesota, USA - DEC 7, 2013
Pours very dark with beige head and OK lacing. Lots of oats on the nose. Taste is heavy roast with a decent aftertaste. That1Guy (2236) - Colorado, USA - SEP 5, 2014
Part of a flight at the taproom. Notes just say surprisingly sweet without being cloying. Not crazy about nitro beers usually, but this one was very pleasant. rosenbergh (11532) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 26, 2016
Draught at the Town Hall Brewery, Minneapolis, MN.Perkeo (322) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 6, 2003
Dark reddish brown color with a small off-white head.
Sweet malt, roasted malt and some dryness in the aroma.
Roasted malt, sweetness, mild bitterness and mild hops in the flavor.
Tan head, nice lace, sponge like in it's density, ruby to dark brown color; floral/rosy aroma, kinda tastes like cherrios and dark chocolate milk, with some late bitterness and roasted grain. Nice, unique oatmeal stout.

Jet black and oily. Roasty, dark vinous nose. Very sweet to the tongue, some robsutness late...rather light for style but eminently drinkable. ClarkVV (6711) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 24, 2004
2004 growler @ the DCVAMD gathering. Good dark brown appearance, lightly hazy and a small fizzy beige head. Aroma of nuts, sour milk, malted milk and some dry roast. Flavor is quite roasty, lightly sweet, with a good amount of oatmeal smoothness, but it needs more body. The creaminess is dried out by the bitterness on the end. Didnt notice much belgian characteristic. RAYBOY01 (2011) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 16, 2005
Ontap at brewery (nitro-infused): decent pour: rich black and full cream colored head. Aromas of chocolate and burnt sugar. Flavor was drier than anticipated, with however a distinct dried fruit note. I was distressed by a fake creaminess in the palate and, on the otherhand, a surprising thinness of body. Just OK. Tap at brewpub. Pours a deep black with a chalky chocolate with a slight hint of smoke. Flavor is molasses-infused chocolate. Average mouthfeel. Not bad at all. DasBierChef (1083) - Hudson, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 17, 2011
Oh black water, keep on rolling... Because you’re tasty and it’d be sad if you stopped!
