4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
GABF 2006. The beer pours to a really dark brownish black body with a tan head. The aroma is really intense with concentrated espresso. Roasty as all get out. The flavor is an intensely roasty coffee and espresso. They could pass this one off as coffee. One dimensional, but delicous and very aromatic. Nice creamy mouthfeel. I love coffee.
On tap at the brewery and from a growler later on. Pours a dark black with a thin beige head. Phenomenal nose. Complex sweet and roasted malts with coffee strong and delicious. Body is a little light for a porter. The coffee, burnt malts, and chocolate flavors are balanced and tasty. A great coffee porter.

UPDATED: DEC 17, 2013 TAP, CASK: at Town Hall, 1.30.09. Pours a dark black with a quickly dissipating head. Aroma is fantastic - coffee and roast. Taste is coffee and roasted malt. Low hop, slightly carbonated. This is a terrific beer. Syd (921) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - FEB 28, 2008
At Town Hall right now on 2/28/2008. Pint pours dark ruby black with decent lace and short lived head. The aroma is very coffee and chocolate like. The flavor is roasty toasty coffee, chocolate, yeasty, and very little hop. The palate rocks as it is rich and carbonated. This is good. keoki182 (305) - West Bend, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 25, 2008
Nearly perfect with a deep dark color and a medium brown head. The aroma and flavor are both smooth as an iced coffee. At 5%, I’d love to have had more of this. incutrav (577) - Woodbury, Minnesota, USA - FEB 19, 2008
Town Hall can make one hell of a tasty coffee brew I have found. The B.S Porter is smoother, and a bit more balanced in the coffee dept then their Midnight Howler was. Aroma is rich coffee beans, and flavor is much the same. I typically like a bit more coffee flavor, but there is plenty here, and ultra tasty smooth going down the hatch. Super good.

Tap.This was bit thin and one sided for me. I think maybe that is just seemed so weak that it was too much like simple cold coffee. KAF (448) - Coralville, Iowa, USA - FEB 8, 2008
Mmm....coffee. Blackish pour with a small tan head. Not an overpowering coffee aroma but just right. The flavor has a hint of roasted malt and coffee but again not overpowering. Well balanced with a nice slightly hoppy finish. BDR (2534) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - FEB 5, 2008
crimson body with faint head. Light coffe aroma with faint malt undertones. Incredibly ootd coffee flavor. detroiter (958) - Euphoria, Minnesota, USA - FEB 12, 2007
Black Snow pours an inky black color with a good two inches of creamy deep brown foam. A little bit of auburn color shines through when held up to the light. Fantastic thick lacing. A nice smooth ’medium roast’ coffee aroma.
Pleasant coffee flavor, not too strong, not too bitter, actually quite nice. I’d want an actual cup of coffee to be bolder, but not my coffee porter. A subtle sweetness is behind the coffee. At the risk of making the beer sound like a foo-foo coffee drink (which it definately is not), I will call the sweetness similar to hazelnut. A little bit of delicate floral hops rounds out the finish.
Smooth on cask with a nice coffee aftertaste.

22oz bottle. Hand bottled courtesy of Footbalm. Jet black liquid oozes out. Smelled like coffee, coffee and more coffee. Taste of.....you guessed it....coffee, with some nice malty/chocolate flavors going on. Nice light body. Pretty good stuff.
