UPDATED: FEB 21, 2011 Draft. Poured into a tulip style glass a murky reddish brown mahogany color with a frothy tan head. The aroma is straight cherry pie filling albeit pretty muted. Medium mouthfeel. Sweet cherry upfront with some peat smoke and slight bitterness. Very drinkable. Nice lace left in the glass. I’d call this one more or a fruit beer than a Scotch Ale as the flavors of Hope and King are pretty much dominated by the cherry aroma and taste.
