On tap at Town Hall. Hazy and murky brown with a thin taupe topper. Aroma of chocolate, tannins, dark fruit, light yeast and sweet malt. Taste of chocolate, fruit, yeast, cherry and a touch of caramel. Carbonation factor is a bit high and it’s somewhat cola-like. LamarBurton (376) - California, USA - OCT 6, 2011
Tap at Town Hall, hazy light brown with orange highlights. Not much head, but decent lacing. First smell and sip were a bit off putting, but this one grows on me over time. Aroma is slightly weak, but has some nice tones of toast, lightly roasted malt, slight coco, and a bit of yeast. Taste is lots of roasty malts, a slight bit of biscuit, powdery coco, and milk chocolate. Interesting layers of chocolate here, but quite subdued. A touch sweet for my tastes. Tap at Town Hall on 10.1.2011 - interesting take on the standard Dunkleweizen. Poured a murky orange-brown with a small white head. Aroma was bitter chocolate, slight smoke, and a little caramel. Taste was rich milk chocolate, dark fruit, and malt. Lighter palate but smooth. Interesting brew.
