Light apple flavor and aroma over a yeasty body. A spices and some malt in the body, but an interesting apple character. Skyview (6115) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - FEB 13, 2008
On draught during the Winterfest 2008 in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota. Pours a hazy golden pale brew with a fast dissolving white head that leaves behind a white ring. Aroma of light yeast, tart apples, some pear character, cloves and a touch of banana. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with flavors of earthiness spice, some biscuit malt, slightly tart apple juice and a touch of cloves. Finish has a light earthy dirt flavor with apples and a touch of yeast. The beer has a good start but the finish is a tad rough. ElGaucho (2401) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - FEB 11, 2008
Draft at Winterfest ’08. Sourness from apples in the nose. Not much of a Belgian aspect evident. Hazy gold body with frothy, light tan head. Very sweet, a little overly so without a malt backbone to balance. A bit of a harshness in the finish. Not my favorite Town Hall brew. incutrav (577) - Woodbury, Minnesota, USA - FEB 11, 2008
Wow, good stuff. The apples are very present, and im a fan. Very sweet, not overpowering though. SOme plum and apricot in there too, Like sucking down a fruit basket almost. Surprisingly tasty. tennisjoel (1496) - Rochester, Minnesota, USA - FEB 9, 2008
I don’t really know what to say about this beer. The apple aspect is interesting, but really does nothing for the beer. It certainly does not hide the flaws of the tripel. Just mediocre and I don’t say that about Town Hall very often. I had much better examples of the tripel style later in the evening. Sorry to sound harsh.
