A touch more dark malt and I would say this might be up there with my favorite TH pales. Nice spicyness, chewy and sweet malt. Creamy mouthfeel. Tastes like a cross between their Sierra Nevada Celebration clone and their Anniversary Ale.
Dark copper color with a large head. Big grapefruity aroma and some caramel malt. Strong piney hop flavor. Grapefruit is still there in the background. Very light roasted malt flavor. Syd (921) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 11, 2008
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2008 Pint from growler pours brown red with a decent off white head that clings well. The aroma is pretty hop focused, with some sweetness in there. The flavor is pretty malty, sweet foundation, some white pepper, with some fresh tasting pine, not grapefruit hops. Overall, a nice rich but understated IPA that I could drink all night which is good since I have two growlers. More of an Amber Ale, but I still like it well enough. This is why I love Town Hall. A bitter hop aroma on the dark amber body. A nicely malted body that added flavor to the hop bitterness rather than a cloying sweetness. Anice bitter finish that lingers.
