Growler at RBWG. Pours an amber body with an off white head. Sweet and malty whiskey tones, woody tones and a sweet maple finish. Seems really boozy barley wind plus barrel can do that. Still decent overall. Mrthirstyneck (341) - Minnesota, USA - JAN 23, 2007

2007 Winterfest. Dark muddy red brown pour. Caramels, dark fruit, bourbon notes, and nice hoppy profile. Delicious mouthfeel. Nice sipper. I liked this better than the Fitgers barleywine I had earlier in the evening. Pigfoot (2268) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 6, 2006
From a growler aged about 10 days, sittin’ in my fridge..."enjoy by 11/6" on the label.
Little head, the body a dark crimson hue, nearing brown.
Aroma: prunes, dark fruit, raisins, opening up to the whiskey, but fruit, sweet and sour, commands the day here in the nose...twisted, for sure, though...
Taste: more of the same, starting feel like port wine, rich and sickly sweet, like fortified prune juice, I say in a good way...full body, full flavor, and impossibly rich and amazing. The whiskey barrel meshed with the barleywine taste to create something neither that nor this, something comletely new.
Delicious. Dies off a bit, and fades a tad near the end. Raise it to your lips and it invades the senses once more, tasty, tasty...Quite a unique experience.
Mmmm, mmm, mmm, hmm,mmm.
