UPDATED: OCT 31, 2007 [Had on tap at Town Hall earlier this year] Jet black, medium body, and aroma of coffee. The taste was completely dominated by roasted coffee. This beer maybe lacks complexity, but I enjoyed every drop of it. IrishBoy (4212) - Bakersfield, California, USA - JUN 8, 2007
Handbottle from Hellomynameis; Nose of coffee, smoke, and chocolate; opaque black with a small cinnamon head; flavor of coffee, roastiness, a little chocolate and raisins, from the medium body with a tiny hop finish. Enniskillen (2058) - Bakersfield, California, USA - JUN 8, 2007
Black with light ruby edges, nice tan head. Aroma is heavily roasted coffee, espresso, light caramel, dark chocolate. Taste is very roasty, hops noticable in the background with caramel, body is appropriate for style. Odeed (1805) - Bakersfield, California, USA - JUN 8, 2007

Tap at the brewpub. Very dark brew with a rich tan head. This was a coffee beer. The porter, like Elvis, had left the f*cking building.Coffee, coffee, coffee.Okay so it wasn’t that bad as there was some bitter cocoa but..............COFFEE, and way too much COFFEE. hellomynameis (877) - Mayer, Minnesota, USA - JAN 31, 2007
Black colour with a thin tan head/ring. Aroma is of coffee, served a bit too cold to get anything more out of the aroma. The flavour is coffee first, pleasant overall and not bitter or astringent. As it warmed and the glass emptied I got some bakers chocolate as well. Very one sided, but pretty good for what it is. JK (6201) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - JAN 28, 2007
They love their coffee beers at Town Hall. This has more coffee character than most. Lots of coffee in the aroma. Slightly less in the flavor. I like the session-style low abv on this one. It isn’t complex at all, I don’t get any chocolate or fruits. Its kind of a mild infused with coffee, and good for what it is. beermatrix (1497) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - JAN 27, 2007
Inky black with a small, softly placed tan capping of fluffy firm foam.
A few links of strings and spots lace the glass.
Aroma is simmering of coffee and chocolate, slightly smokey and a sliver of plummy rummy heat.
Grand taster! Wow, what a perfection of tender coffee roastyness and chocolate smoothness. The coffee realm has a nice rounded sweetened edge to its roasty boast of flavor. Tenderly smokey and slightly charred, much like a pot of coffee that’s sat on the heat a bit too long. Great finish too! As it longs over the palate with a texturized smoothness of coffee and chocolate cream, bits of black licorice and molasses float off with a dark candied delight. Excellent, excellent flavors. Yum!
Body is medium with a thinner start and quite smooth with a nice texture of fluffy chocolate and coffee roastabilty, and one awesome finish.
A very nice winter treat that was a pure suprise of tasty goodness and pleasurably drinkable.
