On cask at the brewery. First Minneapolis beer of our Darkness weekend trip. Copper in colour wtih low carbonation. Aromas are of white grapefruit, lemon, and spicy rye toast. Heavy rye malt upfront in the mouth, followed immediately by a whack of juicy sweet C-hops and peppery spice. Slick mouthfeel. Hoppy, but not over the top bitter. Very nice, especially on cask. mattyb83 (737) - Minnesota, USA - OCT 1, 2010
On tap. Pour is a nice deep red, and almost brown, with a small off white head. Strong citrus and pine in the aroma. Strong bitterness that slightly overpowers any sweetness. Rye and bitterness in the finish. Lots of lacing. Slightly out of balance to me, but still pretty enjoyable. kbutler1 (1381) - North Carolina, USA - SEP 27, 2010
Draft. Poured into a pint glass a clear amber orange color with a nice thick 1 finger head. Good hops aroma coming from the nose with a mix of citrus, pine, and the slightly present rye aroma. Slightly sweet upfront then you are assualted with hop bitterness that starts slowly and builds to a nice level. Really good lace. Very refreshing and easy drinking for 7%. Ends with a lingering bitterness. Medium mouthfeel.
