Tap. Slightly hazy yellow pour with an awesome clingy white head. Nose and taste of grain, booze, and some caramel. Very nice brew. ryanfolty (2655) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - FEB 9, 2012
Date: February 9, 2012 Mode: Draft Source: TH Tap Description: Translucent orange yellow with some head and lacing. Aroma and taste were kind of grainy and alcohol. A little bit carbonated as well. Was not really digging this one. beastiefan2k (4191) - HdG (past: NYC, KS, Rain City), Maryland, USA - OCT 29, 2008
Tap @ Town Hall for anniversary week. Color is dark reddish brown. Comes to me with a small head that is rather sticky. Cannot see through the beer, just looks thick and solid. Of course the beer is served too cold but even with that the aroma is very strong with rummy, syrupy alcohol. After that there is alcoholic raisin bread. Get the point? The bigness of the beer is great and the alcohol works well with the other thick dark bread-y aspects of the aroma. Taste is sweet malty cherry with just some light alcoholic astringency. The mouthfeel is nice a thick but yet enough carbonation felt as well. The mouhfeel really helps the beer out. Its strong, that’s for sure. JK (6342) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - JUL 6, 2007
It is no twisted reality, but still good. The aroma has a lot of vanilla, with some sugar. Flavor is a little hot from alcohol. Sweet from sugar and some wheat. It could use a little time but good. Light oak in the finish. Very light carbonation. Dark brown. Thick and heavy on the palate.

Tap at the brewpub. pours murky orange with reddish highlights. Slightly spicy and vinous on the nose. Nice interplay of sweet and spice on the palate. Spicy clove and dry wheat mixing nicely with some raisny sweetness. Finishes fairly boozy. Pigfoot (2268) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - APR 10, 2007
"Wheat wines are a relatively new American beer style, similar in strength and bitterness to barleywines, yet lacking the deep color and hop flavor/ aroma. Brewed with over 50% wheat malt & over 100 IBUs to help balance the high alcohol and malt sweetness, it was fermented with Belgian yeast, two different types of Belgian candi sugar, raisins, & Grains of Paradise."
Dark amber color, clear, a brazen caramel, minimal head, ...
Lovely aroma, big and beautiful, full of fruit, cherries, and cognac, and ...wow, this is on fire! Alcoholic content really speaks up, here.
On the tongue, it’s a complex and flavorful thing, sweet, fully flavored, big, grainy, wheaty texture...a damned intriguing brew, it is, and hard to compare to anything else.
what is a "wheat wine" beer? What is a Belgian Wheat wine? What the---?!?!?!
Who the --??% Huh...?%?*?)@?#$T>?!_+??
all I know is that pleasure and deliciousness follows the drinking of this lovely ale.
I drink it again, and the delicate fruit flavors again emerge, the apple and melon, and pear...maybe, mango, too, why not...it’s a damn-tastic brew, it is
I keep drinkng, I keep liking.. gorgeous! robertsreality (2460) - Minnesota, USA - MAR 12, 2007
Orange/Brown with White Ring. Rasin, Candy Sugar and Yeast on the Nose. Initially Sweet, Followed by Notes of Dry Wheat and Hops...On the Palate are Notes of Candy Sugar, Raisins and Dark Bread...Rich and Drying Mouthfeel...A Dry Bitten Aftertaste and Nice Warming...Well Balanced.....Just What the Doctor Ordered for Cabin Fever. The pour is bronzey orange with a magenta tint. Aroma of raspberry cream candy, caramel and lemon pepper, eventually. Elements of flavor rest easily beside each other, no fighting, in true Belgian fashion: candy sugars, toffee, berries and a light kick of wheat. Alcohol is slightly too strong in the finish. Nicely done. badgerben (5379) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - MAR 1, 2007
Dark red color with a very small head. Sweet and sugary aroma with a little bit of wheat. The wheat definitely storms out in the taste. Strong sweetness that seems a little bit of malt, a little bit like maple syrup, but works out well and doesn’t fall into cloying territory. Not bitter at all. Certainly isn’t crazy complex in flavor, but very tasty.
