2012 bomber - thin copper pour with razor thin head and no retention. Let the glass warm up to about 55 degrees. Wonderful nose of maple, vanilla, wood, sweet malt and caramel. Taste follows the nose with a tad of bitterness. No oxidation to speak of. Typical thinner mouthfeel given the wheat malt but this is a very good BA wheatwine that I have yet to find a rival for.

Bottle sampled at the grand tasting, RBSG 2014. 2013 vintage. Pours a semi-cloudy orange with a small off-white head. Notes of vanilla, cherry, oak, caramel, brown sugar, and toast. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet mouthfeel. Pretty good, but not as good as other barrel aged TH offerings. jcnielsen (3403) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUN 25, 2014

Draft at Town Hall, left over from Barrel Aged Week 2013. Pours a murky., dark amber color with a white head and some lacing. Aroma is boozy, whiskey, floral. Medium on the palate with soft carbonation. Flavor is sweet, boozy, whiskey, some caramel sweetness, a hint of wheat in there, some floral hops, with a malty, boozy finish. This beer did not stand up well to the barrel. Not terrible, but lots of barrel. XmnwildX12 (2079) - Farmington, Minnesota, USA - FEB 22, 2013
On tap at Town Hall Brewery, muddy brown color with white head. Scent is a lot of barrel with a bit if caramel and vanilla. Taste is similar, but has a bubbly whine character, bit too sweet, over takes the barrel.

Bottle thanks to a trade. Pours a hazy deep gold with a near white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a nice barrel note with a hint of light berry and sweet grains. Flavor starts with sweet grains and caramel with sweet grains backed by bourbon. thirdeye11 (6160) - Dallas, Texas, USA - OCT 21, 2012
(750 bottle) clearish deep gold, lasting creamy offwhite head. Nose of big oak, huge alcohol, bourbon plays second fiddle to the alcohol heat, vanilla, raisins, estery. Taste of raisins, saccharin, vanilla, big bourbon alcohol heat, oaky, estery. Big alcohol heat linger, creamy, but of saccharin on the palate finish. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - SEP 13, 2012
