Doppelganger (1388) - Dry County, Arkansas, USA - MAY 15, 2007
Slightly hazy warm copper, small skim of off-white head. Full volume, ultra-fresh hops: melon, strawberry, mint. Clean refreshing minty bite, melon, dry finish with just a touch of lingering bready malt. Delicate, clean, full-flavored--all-around good!

Dark copper color with minimal carbonation and faint bubbles in the body. A little floral hops in the nose. Floral and vegetable tasting hop flavor with a kind of bite to the finish.

Tried this at the 2007 Arborfest, it was served on Cask. Great hop aroma, clean start and finish, great pale ale, with a heavy hop twist.

Pale, clear orange/amber look, under a creamy staying head, leaving lace. Nice! Interesting aroma, with orange peel spilling out first, vanilla, cream, lemon zest,...what else? Sweet, slightly spicy, and unlike anything I’ve ever encountered before. Most interesting. Taste: again, sui generis. Clean, hoppy, fairly smooth...brisk, sweet, citrusy flavor. Snappy, crisp, easy to drink...boy, I’ve had these hops in other Euro-brews before, but maybe not in this combination, or with these malts. I can’t get over how unusual this is! Mouthfeel/texture is a bit of a wrangle, though...very odd, takes some getting used to, for sure. Sticky herbal hops cling to the palate, citrus and spice hang on...there’s a long finish, that eventually dries. Drinkability, though, is a breeze...getting over that unique play on the tongue is easier than I thought...so easy to swallow! Dang, this is good!

Amber Color with White Ring. Light Notes of Fresh Fruit and Cereal Grains on the Nose. Light Bodied, with a Crispy Dry Taste...Nice Fruit Notes of Blueberry/Raspberry?... Perhaps a Subtle Mixture...Dry Grains.. Quite Dry on the Aftertaste. The Dryness of the Grains Similuates a Fruity Wheat Beer Quite Well. A Nice Drinker!

Enjoyed at Town Hall on 4/30/07. This is a a break from the usual for Town Hall. The aroma of this beer is fairly light on the hops. There is rotting fruit, and some hops. There is also something here that doesn’t smell so good, but I can’t nail down exactly what it is, but what is more weird is it works with the beer overall. Flavor is bone dry. This is not excessively hopped, but what is there is bitter, and a light flavor of lemongrass enhances this dryness. Overall I like it; I am always happy to see Town Hall do something different. This beer could use some adjustment, but overall it is good.
