Handpump at HZ. My definition of a session ale. My glass evaporated before me. Nothing hugely 'in your face' going on, but I could happily have another (and another..)

Taster at Belaire Tavern, Nelson. No obvious aroma. Light brown beer with small white head. Low carbonation. Malty, smoky, bitter. All very restrained. There’s a touch of pepper and sourness in the finish. waiake (606) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 3, 2015

Dave tasted it before I did. "Smells like home brew" he said. Maybe that’s what the brewer wanted, but this takes me back to the 80s, and not in a good way, where life is full of opportunity, but when your flatmate brews his own and does an OK job of it DylansDad (655) - North Shore, Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 11, 2015
Nutty aroma with a touch of yeast and astringency that is immediately noticed in the taste. Taste is close to porter, its pretty good, but unexceptional and a little over-dominated by a slightly metallic sourness. But, hey, maybe that’s the style. kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - NOV 17, 2013
The head is good, the body red-brown. It smells maltaromatic, sweet, malty. The taste is malty, sweet, grain, bit hoppy, In the aftertaste bit sour-sweet.

UPDATED: JAN 23, 2014 From the comments below, seems to me way different from the beer of 2-3 years ago. Very cloudy amber, chicken broth cloudy, really, with a beige head that hangs around, no matter what. Little to whiff, exempt for a faint aroma of pale lager. The referred sweetness is vague, mostly hidden under a rather strong grassy, citrus bitterness. This wouldn’t have been my first choice, as I’d have expected more of that paradoxical sweet, more mellow, malty, "bitter". Still, it’s not bad! beer-yum (1866) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 12, 2013
UPDATED: SEP 18, 2015 A solid bitter beer. Nothing special - but enjoyable nonetheless. Would not skip a session fuelled by this. lisagirl (264) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - APR 29, 2013
i only had this recently, but oddly can’t remember much about it. all i remember was typical a middle-of-the-road session with pleasant fruit and bitterness. was nice anyway. ShaneJ (898) - AUSTRALIA - FEB 9, 2013
Bottle from Plonk. A really nice english bitter, classic ESB aromas and flavours. Loved it.
