Bottle, 5.0%. Clear amber with a modest off white head. Fruity and earthy aroma with gooseberry, tropical fruit, onion. Fairly light bodied. A bit of bread crust, lots of fruit, quite a lot of earthy, herbal and oniony flavours as the bitterness builds. The earthiness seemed a bit much at first, but it did balance the fruit in a way. Orange hazy pour with not much by way of head, lacing or other in-glass action, although it is nicely carbonated.
This is a lovely mellow bitter beer with some sweeter fruit things going on. Delivery as a reasonable length and it pleasantly rewarding and surprising.

In a blind smell test I would’ve put money on this being a very nice-smelling pilsener, after a taste I would’ve said, ’ Pilsener with a bit of added citrus, maybe’. This bottle is two months shy of best before, so I’m wondering if it has lost a bit of sparkle? Either way, it is a very light-bodied ale that drinks like a lager. Not a sock-blower-offer, just a decent beer. omega (900) - NEW ZEALAND - MAY 17, 2013
Sorry for not putting in the Comm Description - too friggin’ long! Part of the Brewers Collaboration Series with Brewaucracy. Pours with nice fragrant hoppy goodness and has an almost golden cloudy appearance. Palate is citrus and guava with a dryish bitter finish. Quite pleasant to drink and pleasantly surprised by this beer.
