On tap at the brewery. Pours a deep ruby tinged brown with a large creamy tan head. Big smoke on the nose, roast, coffee, chocolate. Big roast, chocolate, cocoa, nice smoke over dark fruit. Medim bodied, but this a touch from the nitro pour, smooth and roasty, gentle smoke and roast. Slow chocolate, cocoa, slow smoke. Easy drinking for 7%. Tasty stuff, probably really good with mac and cheese or bbq.

GABF 2015. Very dark brown, some head. Very dry beer. Moderate to heavy roast. No smoke aroma or flavor. it has the roasted malt but the smoke quality is lacking and that is disappointing.

chocolate and roast are bigger players than any smoke, in nose and palate. still a very solid porter, just lacking a little in the smoke department.

Tap at Preserve in Winters, CA. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma is lite smoke and chocolate. Med + body. Flavor is chocolate, smooth toasted/burnt malt and noticeable smoke. The flavors seem well integrated and its very tasty. Finishing towards dry. And bitter.

Pours a finger of head on a black body. The aroma is burnt wood and roasted malt. The taste is burnt and roasted malt with sweet dark chocolate and brown sugar. The texture is soft with low carbonation. Excellent.

On tap for Sacramento beer week.aroma is mild, some light roast. Flavor is where this shines. Nice roasted note, some coffee, but the smoked malt is definitely up front and center. Taste finishes roasty. Palate finishes real watery and thin. Surprisingly really similar to a chipotle smoked porter I made.
