COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Soulman Stout represents the free spirit of the wandering hobo traveling the transcontinental railroads. Our vision of the traveling soulman is a little bitter with traces of earthiness and a sweetness at the core. Our Soulman Stout looks to capture this hobo-spirit in an ale by combing roast and crystal malts together with earthy hops. The result is an extra foreign stout with depth and dimension.

PhillyCraft (7738) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 1, 2017
Sampled on tap at the brewpub, pours a brownish color with small to medium head. Notes of dark malt, dark fruit, coffee roast, grain, milk chocolate, bread and light cinnamon. Medium bodied.

brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - MAR 27, 2016
On tap @ Track 7. Black in color with a finger of tan foam. Really strong dark chocolate, almost like bakers chocolate, with plenty of roast, licorice, and burnt sugar. Moderate sweetness and a decent enough bitterness, too. Not ashy or gross on the bitterness front. Some sweet licorice and molasses. A nice bit of floral hops in the background, but the coffee, roast, and dark cocoa dominate.

Draught at pita kabob in Visalia. Deep brown and full beige head. All things nicely in moderation beer - roast, slight chocolate and coffee. Not bad.

On tap at the brewery. A decent, well made and well balanced stout, with a nice roastiness but not too extreme.

BelgianBeerGal (4140) - Panama City, Florida, USA - JUN 23, 2015
Draft at the brewery. Standard dark brown color with a brown head and bubbly carbonation. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee and nuts. Espresso and bitter baking chocolate in the taste with maybe a whiff of smoke. Nice and easy drinking with a lighter mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: APR 21, 2015 "Really nice robust and flavorful stout, with the body and intensity of an export, with the nose and flavor profile of a dry Irish. Really good, really drinkable."

pinkzambia (2069) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUL 26, 2014
Tap @ cameo lounge hilton Sacramento Arden west: murky dark brown with not much head. Chocolate aroma with some roasted malts. Flavors are like a Yoohoo mixed with coffee. Quite tasty for this new brew. Thin feel on the aftertaste. Not bad at all!

On tap at the brewery. Dark brown, almost black pour. Roasty chocolate malt aroma. Flavor has a lot of semi-sweet chocolate notes with some light roastiness. Medium bodied with a very dry finish. Nice stout, and one of their better offerings.
