Deep black in color with a beautiful tan, frothy head that compliments the rich aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Hits the tongue like a chocolate desert but plays lightly on the palate with nice bitterness on the finish. Almost forgot about its 9.0 abv. Enjoyably smooth and true to its name and style. Cheers, or perhaps Salud! is more appropriate! Courtneys (1) - - FEB 16, 2015 does not count
From the start the beer has a beautiful dark color with a velvety head to the pour. The chocolate and coffee malts make for a rich creamy taste with just a slight bite to the finish. This beer is so smooth and easy to drink and as much as I wish that the glass would never end the 9% abv sadly leaves me to only a glass at a time. ketchepillar (1199) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - MAY 3, 2013
On tap at the Nob Hill taproom. A nice dry, uber roasty, chalk, burnt toasty. Ok, not uber. Some fruity esters. tomciccateri (1034) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - JAN 6, 2013
On draught at Tractor Taproom - Albuquerque. Pours an opaque black color. Slight tan head. Slight licorice aroma. Heavy body. Even dry/sweet flavor balance. Licorice character among very rich dark malt flavors. Big and OKAY.
