Trader Joe’s Providential Belgian Style Golden Ale is really good for a grocery store brand - probably because it is made by a well-respected brewer. Pour is a cloudy yellow but the fizzy white head thins too quickly. Aroma is an intoxicating sweet blend of fruit and spices. Taste is also sweet and fruity with some spice notes -- a nice blend of hop, malt and yeast profiles. Providential is well worth the buy at your Trader Joe’s. thetmaxx (917) - West Sacramento, California, USA - JAN 13, 2013

Very good example of a Belgian Golden ale. Initially pours with a large head, but then settles down. Easy drinking with a lot of orange and spice nose. beersighted (134) - - FEB 25, 2014
Man, this is about a Belgian as a French Canadian beer can be. Brewed by Unibroue, this slightly cloudy golden ale underneath a fluffy white head. Distinct sweet yeast aroma permeates this deliciously herbal traditional Belgian golden. This is the real deal and only $6.99 at Trader Joes. JDBaker11058 (2337) - Maryland, USA - JAN 8, 2013
Appearance: cloudy, buttery gold with a huge, dense-yet-fluffy white head grudgingly shrinking, with active carbonation jets; poured into a tulip. Aroma: yeasty/spicy, with notes of champagne, white grapes, coriander, orange zest, banana bread, clove, and ginger. Taste: as the aroma indicates, but with some ritz-crackery malt threading solidly beneath the rest. Finish: tingly and spritzy with carbonation, leaving a bit of sweet and yeasty flavors behind. Notes: Fantastic, as you’d expect from Unibroue. Tastes very similar to their Eau Bénite (suspiciously so). Listen, you can get a 750ml bottle of Unibroue for $15.99, or get it for $5.99 at Trader Joe’s. That’s smart shopping with a delicious upside, because this beer is a winner.

Hazy golden pour with ring of white. Belgian yeast and clean vanilla and honey. Great blanch De chambly ness to it. Large carbonation lends itself to big full mouth full. Very good. damzz (512) - Massachusetts, USA - NOV 23, 2013

Bottle from Trader Joe’s in Palo Alto, CA. Aroma fruity esters, savory bread, bits of spiced ginger candy. Taste is crisp, lemony with savory herbal, ginger moments. Overall an excellent ale for the money ($5.99 USD). drdisque (877) - Illinois, USA - DEC 18, 2015
From a bomber purchased at (guess where) Trader Joe’s. Rich well developed yeasty and spicy aroma. Full bodied sweet malty flavor with great balance and a buttery grain mouthfeel with only a slight alcohol burn. Outstanding Belgian style ale. Will stock up on more of these.
