I have had this at Gordon Biersch, so I kind of knew what to expect. However, it’s not as good from the bottle as it is in the brewery. Still, this is a pretty good example of a good Hefe. Because there is no filtration, this beer has a nice orange, hazy color. Very little aroma, but lots of the typical banana, clove and bubble gum flavors going on. Overall, pretty good. elnadeau (786) - Laguna Niguel, California, USA - SEP 6, 2006
Pours nice orange tinged gold color, medium sized head, aroma is lemony sweet spicy malty. A very well crafted version of this style, medium body with a great balance of yeasty ester components, malt character and light hop bitterness. Not usually a fan of german hefe; I like this one. Bottled. Poured a hazy golden orange with a couple minutes worth of white head. The nose was grainy with plenty of bananas, cloves, and a hint of lemon. Tart wheat and lemon notes are the dominant feature of the flavor, with a thick dose of banana beneath. Creamy for the most part on the palate with well-placed tart notes... however there was an odd syrupy undertow. Solid effort! npdempse (934) - St. Petersburg, Florida, USA - AUG 25, 2006
Cloudy amber-brown, with a good sized but not particularly long-lived white head. Aroma has a good dose of bananas and bubble gum, with a pronounced tartness that reminds me of yogurt. Medium sweet in flavor, rather tart, with some musty bananas. Good take on the style, but I’ll stick to the Bavarian originals. JK (6249) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - AUG 24, 2006
Much better than I expected. Cloudy and dark gold. Quickly fading head. There is no sediment however, so maybe it is filtered. Tremendous banana aroma; rarely have I had a hefeweizen with more banana aroma than this. Some citrus as well. Flavor is good but not as good as the aroma. Sour citrus and somewhat sweet wheat flavors under that. A little bit thin. They are half way there with this beer. Make it a little sweeter and a give it a heavier palate and it will be a world class hefeweizen. Purchased at Trader Joe’s, St. Louis Park, MN.

A perfect summer brew. Tastes somewhat sweet, I can most def taste a tad bannana but it may have been the bananna I ate earlier. Reminds me of a belgian brew I had in Europe. No real scent, but its a nice brew that I can see myself drinking again. Only downside is that it is a bit watery, but its aite for a brewy summer brew. dwyerpg (6365) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - AUG 16, 2006
Smell is somewhere inbetween a German hefe and a witbier, but it looks like a lger with a lasting head. Not cloudy. Taste has a lot of bananas and is thin and bland. Not a good beer. MrChris (110) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - JUL 14, 2006
Aroma is musty with a very hoppy ending. Pours rich, half head, half beer. The other half is still in the bottle. Rich banana flavor is right out front with bubble gum right behind, and a hoppy ending. Crisp, pleasant carbonated mouth feel. Flattens outs towards the bottom of the glass. This beer is a great value at less than 4 ½ bucks a six pack. Odeed (1805) - Bakersfield, California, USA - JUN 26, 2006
nice dark red body with an off white head.very malty for a hefe.honestly maybe one of the best hefe’s i have ever had. BrewDad (5328) - Olympia, Washington, USA - JUN 18, 2006
This was one of the better of these type of brews. Whom ever is there commercial brewer can make a Hefe. Good Color unfiltered, a huge banana type smell. Loved the flavro and the aromas. Good Beer finally for TJ.
