Wow. I was very impressed with this Bock from TJ’s. I picked up one bottle at the TJ’s near Union Square, NYC. Pours a rich golden-brown, medium head and considerable carbonation. Taste is sweet with hints of honey. Smooth and full-bodied, the beer is strong but not overbearing. Quite tasty. It seems like a bunch of other raters weren’t too impressed with this brew, but I really enjoyed it - especially considering it cost $1. Anyway, give it a shot. brokensail (16645) - Dublin, California, USA - JAN 3, 2013
Clear golden pour with a white head. Sweet sugar, bread, and toast. Yeast, mild floral hops, grass, and a touch of spice. Pretty straightforward flavor, too. Mostly sweet sugar and bready malt with a light toasted quality. Some spicy, floral, and grassy hops. No perceivable bitterness and a bit of yeast. bhensonb (15758) - Woodland, California, USA - APR 8, 2007
Aroma of sweet fruit and malt. Light amber color with very little white head. Starts malty sweet, chewy, with a little stone fruit. Not a great deal of hop. The finish isn’t very dry, and it isn’t very bitter. Pleasant enough. Tmoney99 (14976) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 29, 2005

12 ounce bottle from Trader Joe’s in Richmond. Pours a light amber color with a medium off-white head, poor retention and lacing. Grainy and grassy aroma with some citrus notes. Taste is grassy with some grainy and fruity notes as well as some subtle bitter hops. Medium bodied. Dogbrick (13777) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 28, 2006
Pretty typical from my experiences with Trader Joe beers. Pours pale golden-orange with a medium thick bone white head and decent lacing. The aroma is a little musty, with sweet malt and a bit of citrus. Medium-bodied and clean with sweet malt flavoring, as well as some citrus and hops in the background. Lingering spicy hops aftertaste keeps the malty flavor from becoming cloying, yet overall this brew is not quite balanced enough to be an enjoyable session beer. Just a little below average, but worth the roughly 83 cents per bottle. bu11zeye (13215) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - FEB 25, 2013

12oz bottle acquired in trade with ughsmash (thanks!). Poured a deeper golden color with a larger sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, toasted malts, and grains. Tastes of caramel, and grains. slowrunner77 (12895) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 17, 2014
"this beer is still a touch on the boring side, but has a nice balance to it. i recommend it for the price, but not if you can afford better beers. just ok."
