Appearance was clear golden with diminishing white creamy 1 finger head, spotty lacing. Aromas are sweet Belgian pale, slight wheat with fruits of citrus and tropic. The yeasts are the stars though with pepper, banana, cloves, no alcohol. Taste are sweet malts with hints of lemon, earth, orange, melon with spicey clove, banana, pepper yummy. Palate was soft creamy smooth CO2 with meduim-full body, rich lasting fruity yeasty nectar finish. A wonderful Belgain Golden ale, traders joes for 4.99 a steal. Very yeasty caramel aroma with lots of carbonation and some resin. Bright gold with a quick disapating foam. Crisp, balanced flavors of apple, yeast, biscuit, wheat and herbs. Finish leaves a continuous herby flavor with bitter orange peel. Overall, very smooth and flavorful. Some very faint fruits and strong herb and apple flavors. I’d give this an A- rating. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, sugar, yeast and dried fruits. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Bottle, 75cl corked. It’s a lighlty hazy golden beer with a two-finger white head. Orange peel, grass and a little peppery hoppyness in the aroma, some pale malts and a yeasty hint as well. The flavor has a nice citrus peel touch, with a fine bitterness and some peppery hints. Some yeast notes and banana too. Slightly warming on the palate, a bit too much for a beer at 7.5% ABV I think, with a full body and a quite soft but a bit flat carbonation. Long, bitter and fruity finish. Except that it is a bit alcoholic, it’s a fine brew I wouldn’t mind drinking more of. 130808 Geokkjer (7627) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 8, 2013

Hazy gold with a big white head. Smells of muted banana yeast, tart, markers(alcohol). Tastes sour & winey with bits of chewy barley flavor with a dry procecco-like finish. Not as effervescent as I was expecting. Sorta watery. Almost reminiscent of a berlinerweis. Good, but I prefer the the other, blonder options from unibroue.
