750ml bottle. Pours dark, slightly opaque, mahogany. Aroma of strong citrus, coriander, floral, pepper. Flavor is citrus, coriander, jasmine, pepper, cinnamon. Very citrusy, spicy, and surprising light for such a dark beer. I’m glad I tried this on a warm spring day as it compliments the weather well. ACHops (1594) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 17, 2013
750 ml corked bottle from, where else, TJs. Pours deep brown with a thick frothy pale mocha head. Aroma is yeast, bread, and floral cardamom spice. Taste is sweet, thin, figgy malt with yeasty finish. Well carbonated. Notes of chocolate, oak, and spice. Quite balanced for 9% abv... And a bargain for $5. Love to see some aging on this. Deep brown body with airy, light caramel brown head. Clovy nose heightend by acidic vinegar nose and whiffs of Brett and a whisper of chocolate. Body is smooth, not much carbonation despite the full head. Liquid Bread Belgian yeast, with touches of chocolate and sourdough, spiced by clove. Fairly complex and actually somewhat reminiscent of Fantome. fallingleaves (32) - Colorado, USA - MAR 3, 2013
Compared with the 2011 version, 2012 is simply over spicy and lacks a complexity to add variety to your sips. It possesses a wonderful aroma of Belgian species, but this beer is not particularly enjoyable to drink, although it delivers on all the aesthetic elements. aobecksy (700) - Middle of no where, Ohio, USA - MAR 3, 2013
Bottle shared at RBWG! JAX 13 Deep brown overly carbonated-- little to no lacing. Had the 2010 which was better. jbruner (4808) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - MAR 1, 2013
Bottle shared at RBWG! Pours a deep black brown from the bottle with bubbly tan head and little to no lacing. Aroma of belgian yeasty esters that lead to dark fruits, taste follows with a sweet malty finish. Meh, the 2010 and 2011 were better. burg326 (5488) - Florida, USA - FEB 25, 2013
Bottle shared at RBWG, poured an amber brown color with aromas of malt, brown sugar, and light tartness. Flavors are the same, candi sugar in aftertaste. Thanks to whoever brought this one.
