COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unique and limited edition, this Belgian style ale is crafted once a year as a special treat for those of you who appreciate flavorful, bottle-conditioned ale with character. This year’s vintage: a rich, dark and full-bodied ale with a fine and generous coffee-colored, beige foam. It’s ready to enjoy right away and you may also wish to cellar a few bottles. It will evolve interestingly well, developing more complex flavors as the years go by.

This was a bottle share on the RBSG bus. In my tasting glass near black with a tan head. Nose of dark fruit. Full body. Flavor tasted a bit oxidized, but was chocolate, dark fruit, and earth. Finished earthy. I was prepared to laugh this one off but it was actually quite good.

HogTownHarry (7065) - Toronto (Harbourfront), CANADA - JUL 23, 2017
November 6, 2014 - with blankboy, gregclow, jercraigs and mabel - 750ml bottle. Very deep slightly hazy ruby with a large fluffy pancake batter beige head. Aroma of alcohol, apple seed, spice and moderately sweet candy apple malt (call it 7 just to be different). Taste follows but it works a bit better - classic spicy/yeasty Unibroue dark. Solid body, average carbonation, a little astringent from that appleseed bitterness and alcohol emerging in the linger. As always a solid drinker.

3.8
JaBier (8253) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - FEB 26, 2017
Bottle shared by a friend. Pours brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel and grape. Malty and caramelly flavor with an herbal character (sage-like) before a grape finish.
