Crystal clear cola color with a very thin white head. Not much in the aroma but it did actually remind me of a Mexican beer aroma. The body is watery and has a light charred, smoky taste. Hops are there and balance the thin malt well. Not a very interesting beer, but not offensive either and would probably go great with Mexican food. I have had much much worse beers than this. When I tastes a sip I keep expecting a boozing, cheap malt tasting finish. But,,,, it never comes. It starts with light dark malts and just fades away. For a beer of this price and caliber, that’s a good thing. Still it’s not great. I’d put it up there with some of the better dark Mexican lagers though. Packaging is terrible. Looks CHEAP. radagast83 (8059) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - APR 5, 2012
11.2 oz bottle. Poured a soda-brown color with a large off-white head. Aroma was sweet malt caramels. Flavor was about the same - pretty uninspiring, but cheap and on par with what you’d expect from a "Mexican lager." JK (6146) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - FEB 26, 2012
UPDATED: MAR 4, 2012 Dark brown. Caramel aroma and some in the flavor, with a chemical dryness on the palate. Not especially drinkable, but it is ok. Light palate. Light brown color. nick76 (4399) - Tampa, Florida, USA - FEB 18, 2012
The aroma is dust and adjunct malt with a touch of metallic hops. The appearance is brown with a large foamy head. The taste is weak and watery but does have some roasted malt with hints of chocolate. The palate is thin. Overall not horrible, I could drink this but not great by any standard.

11.2 ounce bottle. Pours brown with a decent biege head. Aroma of sweet malt and caramel. Taste is malt, caramel, and a bit of chocolate. OK for the $1.00 price. From Trader Joe’s Kansas City, MO. BVery (10501) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - DEC 17, 2011
UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 Bottle. Dark amber pour with a small creamy off-white head. Aroma was tea, a bit of spice, caramel, and a touch of spoiled fruit. Medium to light palate. Taste was caramel malt, and some tea-like qualities. Not awful. rubbishystuff (2538) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 8, 2011
UPDATED: MAR 29, 2015 Not a super fan of this. There is a slippery mouth feel that is disagreeable. The rest of the flavors are OK, mild caramel and some maltiness. Serving: Bottle CanIHave4Beers (4184) - Pouring Bus, Iowa, USA - DEC 8, 2011
Pours a deep reddish brown with a big tight well retained white head that leaves some lace on the glass.theisti (4126) - Kansas, USA - DEC 5, 2011
The aroma is toast, malt, and cornflakes
The flavor is lightly sweet and somewhat toasty with a light astringent flavor. The beer displays some cornflake flavor and has some spicy hoppiness.
The mouthfeel is really nicely bubbly and it’s not particularly thin or watery or anything.
11.2 fl oz (didn’t notice that!) twist off bottle purchased at the Trader Joe’s in Kansas City, Missouri. Best before 100612AFL 08:19 (huh - I assume best before Oct 6, 2010) printed on the bottle. Pour is a darker copper, with a ton of effervescent bubbles rising up to form a noisy light tan head. One inch head falls quickly, with very little lacing. The aroma is quite faint, what is there is nutty malt, slight sweetness and a whisper of grass. The taste is the lightly nutty malt, followed by a bit of an industrial chemical sweetness, finishing with some general sweetness, and some of the dry grass hay from the nose. The palate initially is medium to light bodied, lower carbonation levels and a lingering malt sweet finish. As it warms, this really thins out. This was mostly clean, pretty easy drinking and inoffensive.
