Clear brownish copper, sturdy beige head. Molasses, caramel aroma. Molasses and toast flavor. Pretty bland, I think. Drjohnrock (841) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 7, 2012
From 12 ounce bottle purchased at Trader Joes Cincinnati from a single bottle/can display (part 4 of a 4 part series) tasted on May 27, 2012.. Dark ruby/brown hue, large tan head that slowly receded with good lacing, light to moderate sweet/musty aroma, light to moderate sweet maltyy taste that’s a bit subdued--the flavor profile needs to be turned up a notch or two, Not bad, though. drdisque (899) - Illinois, USA - AUG 1, 2012
Good nutty caramel aroma. Sweet, fizzy slightly burnt flavor. Nice thick lacing on the glass. Not bad. J_man (1025) - Tustin, California, USA - JUN 24, 2012
Crystal clear cola color with a very thin white head. Not much in the aroma but it did actually remind me of a Mexican beer aroma. The body is watery and has a light charred, smoky taste. Hops are there and balance the thin malt well. Not a very interesting beer, but not offensive either and would probably go great with Mexican food.

I have had much much worse beers than this. When I tastes a sip I keep expecting a boozing, cheap malt tasting finish. But,,,, it never comes. It starts with light dark malts and just fades away. For a beer of this price and caliber, that’s a good thing. Still it’s not great. I’d put it up there with some of the better dark Mexican lagers though. Packaging is terrible. Looks CHEAP. radagast83 (8624) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - APR 5, 2012
11.2 oz bottle. Poured a soda-brown color with a large off-white head. Aroma was sweet malt caramels. Flavor was about the same - pretty uninspiring, but cheap and on par with what you’d expect from a "Mexican lager." JK (6342) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - FEB 26, 2012
UPDATED: MAR 4, 2012 Dark brown. Caramel aroma and some in the flavor, with a chemical dryness on the palate. Not especially drinkable, but it is ok. Light palate. Light brown color. nick76 (4403) - Tampa, Florida, USA - FEB 18, 2012
The aroma is dust and adjunct malt with a touch of metallic hops. The appearance is brown with a large foamy head. The taste is weak and watery but does have some roasted malt with hints of chocolate. The palate is thin. Overall not horrible, I could drink this but not great by any standard.
