Bottle from Ellon drunk in Strasbourg. Fairly small head. Deep brown colour, perhaps slightly hazy.

mkel07 (6546) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - DEC 5, 2017
Bottle from Malt Traders Southbank on 3 December 2017. This is not your standard IPA as it looks, smells and tastes different from the many IPA’s that I have had in the past. More malty than hoppy and there is a copper red colour to it. Fresh and clean in the mouth with a sweetish malt aftertaste. Enjoyable beer from this brewery.

Bottle. Backlog rating from bottle collection and historic scoring. Source not recorded. No tasting notes kept, just rating.

rauchbier (3949) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - OCT 4, 2015
Bottle, from Morrisons, Fort William. Dirty golden brown, thin but well sustained white head and good condition. Slightly fruity nose with hints of sweet caramel, quite full in the mouth with a little yeast bitternes, some earthy hop notes and a muted caramel sweetness. There is also a low citrus note and a suggestion of coconut. Finish has a little citrus hoppiness and a touch of yeast and more coconut.

* Bottle. Pours chestnut red, with an off-white head. * Aroma is medium, malt, toffee, hops & apple. * Palate is medium, high carbonation, large bubbles, moist. * Taste sweet malt, toffee, apple & slight hop. * Finish is sweet & moist. * Overall good taste, malty & moist but carbonation too high. A bitter not an IPA.

mahkus (136) - Aberdeen, SCOTLAND - MAR 8, 2015
Bottle from morrisons. Quite dark in colour. Nutty, malty aroma and taste. Not like an IPA.

DuffMan (10751) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 5, 2014
Bottle, part of a gift pack, no best-before or bottled-on date, blue and black label. This pours a hazy dark brown that is more chestnut than copper. The head is rather thin and retains poorly. Peaty caramel profile, tea-like hop character, more dry than bitter. Not undrinkable, but completely off the map for an "IPA".

MRMedellin (335) - Bogota, COLOMBIA - FEB 17, 2014
I really enjoyed this beer. In glass is a dark red beer with a beige head, and adequate carbonation. The aroma has caramel, bread, and strong coffee notes, the taste is clear, with a medium body, not too much of the malt is felt, and that is the only bad thing. At the end the hops flavor is strong, and persistent, like an IPA should be.

zacgillbanks (5651) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - FEB 2, 2014
Bottle from Tesco, Edinburgh. This is an amber-red coloured beer with a rich malty and red fruity flavour, roasted notes and a slight fruity finish. This tastes very much like an 80 shilling rather than an IPA.

allmyvinyl (11178) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 30, 2013
500ml bottle at home. Pours copper brown with little to no head. Aromas are all malt, toffee, caramel, biscuit. Very light floral note. Sweet taste, thin on the palate. Pretty dull.

madquacker (1176) - Canberra ACT, AUSTRALIA - NOV 9, 2013
Ruby colour with no head. Liquorice and aniseed but mainly water is the over arching feel. Light and low carbonation.
