Purple colour. Alcohol & black currants in the aroma. Wine-like body, fresh juicy flavours. The syrup comes on a little strong, outmuscling the alcohol. For me, this works but I know it's not traditional in a mead. Sammy (12205) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 28, 2004
fizzy syrup. This is not real mead but some juice and hopes. They say it will improve with age. jercraigs (10374) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 30, 2003
Light purpley colour with a fruity alcohol aroma. Dry finish. Not found of this, mostly because I don't like the currants. The raspberry is better. mabel (9246) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 14, 2007
[498-20070810] Tap @ TFOB (Toronto, ON). Mouldy yeast and black currant fruit and medium alcohol aroma. Clear, dark bright red with a quick light red head. Mouldy fruit yeast continues in flavour with alcoholic black currant seeds. Medium body has a long aftertaste and is a little bitter. Not as shocking as the raspberry (perhaps since it was just sampled) but still made with the same unpleasant yeast. CapFlu (5127) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 23, 2003
UPDATED: APR 15, 2004 (200ml bottle) Many thanks to Cartoon_Khaki for the opportunity to try this mead. Volcanic, small carbonation. Thin pink head. Beautiful cranberry body. Nose of currants, red wine and alcohol. Sweet, then bitter with a dry finish. Sour flavour. Evident currants. Nice. Much better than the Raspberry... Thanks again, Rob!

sickly sweet, and artificial. served ice cold, was too sweet to drijnk, and had an odd plastic aftertaste, tried it when it warmed up a bit, even worse. GregClow (3402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 16, 2003
Deep purple colour. Fruity and slightly boozy aroma. Flavour is initially fruity and sweet, but before it gets to cloying, there's a nicely dry & tart finish. I've got no idea if this resembles a traditional mead, but as far as alcoholic fruit drinks go, it's not bad. DougShoemaker (3147) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 15, 2003
Aroma is of cheap wine, cranberry colour, no head. Cold, strong tasting red wine, alcohol kick. Sweet, harsh, not my cup of tea! markas101 (2454) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - SEP 18, 2006
6cl bottle, Shelburne. Sweet juice aroma, very smooth, interesting flavour. Suggested on bottle to sever on ice but would definitley ruin the experience. An interesting attempt, would like to see a more ’pure’ mead released to judge these against. barncatmatt (2286) - Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 24, 2009
bomber shared at a KW group tasting. pours murky purple. gross. aroma of black current, meat, very sweet. flavour was a little better then the aroma. i could have finished my glass but chose not to. thanks for the share jesse.
