October 6, 2012; 9.0 abv%, Ceramic container of some sort, refrigerated, Rock Glass; First off, that cork took five guys to get off. A corkscrew was the answer. The cork was an inch longer than any of us anticipated. Second, this is my first of this style. Aside from the dry bread and sweets, which was expected, some wet basement and earthy cellar. Pours a hazy honey with decent head Maybe I got the wrong bottle but this tastes of sweet crab juice (legitimate comparison). A bit of mustiness in this finish. Weird. Thin and watery with a musty finish. Surprisingly quenching. Not for me.
Great initiation to mead. Great taste, not too strong. A good reference point. dragntats (1) - CANADA - FEB 12, 2017 does not count
Was very excited when I found Mead Braggot in the LCBO. Very disappointed! The colour and aroma are very misleading because it tastes like shite! I don’t imagine Vikings drinking this fermented swill. Paid 5.49 for a 375ml bottle. Really? Struggled at least 10 mins to get the cork out all the while anticipated the taste and almost gagged! It was sour! I can wash fish or cook seafood with it. I’ve had Mead in Wicklow county, Stonehenge. Now that is Mead! Delicious, semi sweet and creates a warm glowing feeling. The colour was golden amber and I did not mind paying ;£9 for 750ml. I know there are different types of Mead unfortunately only Braggot is available and trust me, it’s nothing to brag about. Pours pale orange gold with a small white cap that disappears quickly. Aroma is dark fruits and malts. Flavours are dark fruits, malts and alcohol. Not a fan. mikkopen (1155) - Guelph, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 6, 2017
375 ml bottle. Clear golden colour, thin white head. Aroma of sweet honey with malt and notes of apples. The flavour is sweetish, mildly malty, with honey and some floral notes. Nothing special. Tranquillity (2251) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 16, 2016
Bottled. I was surprised there’s no sediment in the bottle despite the fancy cork. The aroma is too sweet and the whole thing is nasty. Drainpour.

This is the first time I try mead. The subtle honey sweetness seems well coupled to the malt finish, if not a little overpowered by it. Not a complex brew with a malty prevalence. Not too bad! ciocanelu (2455) - Timisoara, ROMANIA - SEP 24, 2016
UPDATED: SEP 26, 2016 Clear golden color, a bit of white head. Aroma is similar to cough syrup with some propolis. Taste starts with a slight sweetness but overall it’s quite dry and it doesn’t taste too good. It’s weird, I don’t like it. Block (2673) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - APR 29, 2016
Thick golden pour. No head. Aroma is sweet, honey. Flavor is potent upfront. It's sweet and alcoholic. Honey in the finish.

First shot at mead! Poured in glass, did not deliver much head. Has a medium light brown colour. Extremely carbonated, very strong on carbonation. A sweet tangy mouthfeel. Has a strong citrus aroma. Alcohol is prevalent. Some apples and pears in flavour, almost a cidery taste. Has a strong alcohol aftertaste but not offensive (this one is at 8.5%abv). Pretty good. Would like to try more from different sources. ljthiessen (1322) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - OCT 4, 2015
Bottle. Cloudy golden pour, no head. Aroma is sweet honey, floral, a hint of hops. Flavour is lighter than expected, mostly sweet with a slight tartness. Not hugely flavourful and not a great balance, but an interesting take on mead with the malt and hops added.
