3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
So I put this guy on my Facebook list, and suddenly today he pops a picture of his very first beer on tap at the Lemon Tree. So there I go, for a $6 shakerful. Intensely cloudy yellow brown color, almost no head. A sour impression in the nose, then it’s overwhelmed by a lot of tropical fruit hops. Taste is of a saison, but at first mainly a hoppy palate burn with mango and pine. Now it’s showing some thin legs at the side of the glass. Other impression emerge of lemongrass, and later grapefruit. Despite the high IBU listing, the hops are delivering a lot more flavor than bitterness. Brewer Chris Betts has told me about using Citra and Simcoe, though I hope to find out more about his open fermenting system.
Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with a tan head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a good amount of sweet citrus with light grains and funk underlying. Flavor has mainly sweet citrus with some bitterness, some grass and a decent amount of floral. Pailhead (6543) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - NOV 28, 2016
Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate citrus, light florals, lighter grapefruit, Belgian yeast, and mild spice. It pours a cloudy dull orange with a very large orange tinted off-white head that eventually fades to a thick film outlined by a soapy ring. There is some sporadic thin soapy webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of citrus and tropical fruits. There is some mild Belgian yeast in the middle. The finish has light pine, florals, lemon peel, and spice. It’s light-medium bodied with lively (bordering on prickly) carbonation. JaBier (8178) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - NOV 13, 2016

Drucken på Brewskival 2016. Fin doft med persika, aprikos, godispersikor men i smakbilden krockar saison och DIPA smakerna för mycket och tar ut varandra snarare än lyfter. Resultatet blir tungt och lite platt. Gaultier (1857) - SWEDEN - AUG 28, 2016
Sample @ Brewskival 27/8-16. Hoppy and fruity with grapefruit. The finish is dry and hoppy. b3shine (9077) - Indiana, USA - JUL 4, 2016
Draft to snifter at Transient. This is labeled a Farmhouse Double IPA. Looks good; a cloudy fuller orange with foamy eggshell head. Smells of fruity and floral hops, Belgian yeast, and related esters. Tastes like it smells with a mildly to moderately bittersweet backbone. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied. Enjoyable. Crown Beer Fest: Very juicy aroma of mango, pineapple and melon along with biscuit and grassy notes. Not much wild yeast character outside of faint horseblanket. Also very subdued Saison character too. I would be more likely to call this a Belgian IPA more than anything... I will also call this very yummy for what it is. Very new world.
