On tap at Sarducci’s in Montpelier. Clear dark brown with a frothy to creamy decent head that recedes slowly leaving good lacing. Aroma is of burnt malt, molasses, and toast. Taste is medium bitter, lightly sweet, light to medium body, thin to creamy texture, average carbonation, flavors of ashen malts, chocolate and a lightly bitter and brief finish. oteyj (2139) - New Hampshire, USA - JUL 18, 2011
Uber black with a tan head. Lots of sweet roast and backstrap molasses give way to dark fruit incarnations of all sorts, as well as an ever present smoke profile. Thick mouthfeel with low carbonation. craftycarl21 (2338) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 16, 2011
On tap at Farmhouse in Burlington. Dark brown pour with a small head. Big smoke presence along with dark fruit, dates, and figs. Creamy mouthfeel, quite nice. deyholla (11505) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 13, 2011
From the cask at the American Flatbread Real Ale Regatta. Poured black with a thin brown head that dissipated quickly to the edges and remained there. Aroma had a good amount of roast with some backing chocolate and a hint of dark fruits. Flavor lacked the dark fruits and began with dark chocolate but finished dry with strong roasted and coffee notes. TaktikMTL (7733) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 1, 2011

On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark brown with a small light tan head. Aroma of roasted malt. Flavor of roasted malt with a smokey finish, lots of charred malt, and some mint, plus an odd smokey flavor. This didn’t sit right with me - I think it is the combination of the lager malt and house yeast that did not click. Ick.
