Deep amber to ruby colour. Thin head vanishes. Complex charter of deep caramel, butter cookies, raisins and a hint of dark chocolate. Caramelly sweet taste developes through multiple layers deepening and finishing slightly sour. Powerful yet very drinkable, velvety and balanced.

330ml bottle (Black Door, Helsinki)
7 Rich marmitey aroma. Some dark fruit sweetness, dates
4 Deep ruby, small tan head settles to a ring
8 Gently chocolatey roast, quite cakey in places. Some bitterness, stangely hoppy for Traquair.
4 Smooth sweet palate, quite crisp carbonation. Finish choc full with chocolate, and leaves
15 Certainly quite potent, but with the noble hop bitterness, the tingles you get in your mouth are not just alcohol. Look forward to having the chance of an aged one in 5 years.

[email protected] Door, Helsinki. Deep ambery brown colour, with mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is spices, raisins, some plum and mild alcohol and vanillaish notes. Flavour is spicy, plummy, a bit alcohol aa well as dark dry fruity. Pleasantly balanced.

Bottled 330ml (O’Haras, BB 04/2020)
Dark brown-ruby color, small off-white head. Raisins, prunes and cola in the nose. Full-bodied. Quite Belgisch flavor: lots of dark fruits (dates, prunes and raisins). Alcohol is reasonably hidden. Sweetish, nice dessert beer. Warming.

SirLimpsalot (4244) - SWEDEN - NOV 3, 2010

Bottled. Clear mahogany colour, small head. Fruity cocoa aroma. Sweet and full bodied with sugar and milk chocolate. Rather intense, but on the sweet side. Fairly low bitterness. More clean than complex.

[email protected] Pours deep red and has a beige small head. Nose is just perfect. Has deep aroma from nuts, sweet medium roasted malt, little vinous, pepper, red berries and little woody. Flavor is quite the same. Warming and palate is little oily. I like!

lusikka (7813) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 16, 2010
330 ml bottle @ Pub Kultainen Apina. BBE April 2020.
Pours a dark reddish brown colour with a minimal white head on the edges. A bit lacy. Aroma of fruits, toffee and slightly toasted malts. Flavour of caramel malts, oak, syrup and dried fruits. Medium bodied, slick/oily mouthfeel. Bit watery and thin, but alcohol is very well hidden here.
