Clear dark woody brown with an amazing off-white, light cream-colored head. Great retention. Nice malty aroma, though quite faint considering the abv. The flavor is pretty simple to be honest. Not much going on, and some definite soy character, which is my least favorite quality in a beer. Overall: I am disappointed. I LOVE all of the other Traquair stuff I have had, and this bottle was fucking expensive. Oh well. zimbo (970) - SCOTLAND - SEP 18, 2014
Dark brown. Loose tan head. Some fizz and complexity.Malt and a trace of mint. Toffee ending with some butter. OK. abcfan (920) - New Jersey, USA - DEC 15, 2011
Pours reddish brown with no head and very little lace. Significant fruit and raisin aroma is present. Taste is sticky sweet with dark fruit present. Very smooth on the tongue. Finish is short, but sugary sweet. Great brew. wavers1 (916) - Notown, California, USA - FEB 17, 2011
bottle from whole foods novato. pour s avery deep hahogony with a decent sized khaki head, nice retention. decent old ale-ish flavor, a lil crisp. this might be really damn great in 5 years or so, we will see. Matts_Property (837) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 8, 2012
Bottle. Pours dark brown with a red/yellow tinge. and off white lacing. Aroma of plums, figs, dark fruits, butterscotch, brown sugar and molasses. Flavour the same including spices and booze. Rich, well rounded. Nice.

Pours a mahogany color with a small tan head. Aroma of yeast, nuts, chocolate and light alcohol. Flavor of chocolate, malts and slight alcohol. Decent. Kalli (502) - Falun, SWEDEN - SEP 4, 2010
Sweet, thick caramel on the aroma along with... well, it’s like port with caramel. Dark, full malts with caramel in the mouth, shifting to dark, dried fruit. Falters a bit after that, bit of hop bitterness but thins out. Neeskens (328) - SWEDEN - SEP 10, 2010
Veeery dark red color. Dried fruit and alcohol in aroma. More of the same in the flavor together with a malty body and a lot of sugar for the sweet tooth. The bitterness is there, but not in your face, it rather brings it all together. Some oily viscosity, still not as much as many other barley wines and not enough if you ask me. Still, a nice beer but not top in it’s class. dtborelli (322) - Sacramento, California, USA - APR 11, 2011
2020 Barley Wine
Pours medium brown with a light head and oily appearance. Hazy and unfiltered. Aroma is malty and sweet with notes of apple juice. Not a huge aroma, but opened up nicely with warmth. Flavor is boozy and sweet with a nice nutty malt note and some mild hop bitterness at the finish. Will age a few bottles to see how this does.

Traquair 2010.
