I sanning ett maltvin. Som att dricka flytande malt. Fortfärande väldigt kärv och smakar säd, sirap och alkohol. Ser fram emot att prova igen om några år. redlight (2318) - Orlando, Florida, USA - DEC 17, 2010
11.2 oz bottle. Caramel malts on the nose with spicy squash and brown sugar. Pours amber brown with no head. Strong molasses notes with hints of rum and brown sugar, caramelized malts with hints of toast. Very nice sipping beer, I think with some time it will dry out or atleast the sweetness with be more subdued. fluffy (2472) - St Petersburg, Florida, USA - JAN 8, 2011
the site calls it a barleywine, but the bottle says its a scotch ale. its pretty impressive regardless. pours a dark brick head with a short but sticky large bubble head. i smell apples and bourbon. flavor is raisins, dates, brown sugar rum, some pear, figs. a mild alcohol burn and somewhat buttery on the palette. very well done i must say. skortila (5873) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - AUG 25, 2010
Bottle. Thanks Bullit. The aroma has caramel and raisins mainly. Clear, brown coloured barley wine with not much head there. The taste is quite sweet, with sugar, caramel, raisins and a hint of spice. Bit sticky. Okay. olsvammel (7225) - Örebro, SWEDEN - OCT 13, 2010
Bottle from Systembolaget. It poured a clear dark amber liquid with a very small dirty grey-white head. Sweet flavour of candy, brandy and caramel. Semi-smooth mouthfeel, medium amount of carbonation and thick body. A bit to alcoholic for my taste. Could use some more malt and residual sweetness. Might improve over time.

11.2 oz. bottle, fresh. Pours clear, showing a deep, purplish-garnet colored body with a relatively small, smooth head of khaki foam. The froth settles to a thin film with a pronounced, lasting ring, each tilt of the glass leaving behind a dense wash. A few rounded, horizontal flares of lacing manage to stay behind. The nose is certainly on the sweet side for a barleywine, based in toasted marshmallow most prominently, with notes of singed maple sugar, dates, and pecans trailing in varying prominence. There might be a bit of toffee in there but not much. Hops are primarily floral, with just a dash of citrus. Flavors are a little more balanced, as the toastiness of the sugars lends a bit of edge to the sweeter notes of candied pecans and maple glazed dates. The marshmallow drops off a bit, continuing the balancing theme, though it still largely remains a sweet barleywine overall. Lightly zesty floral bitterness is all that backs up the toast in keeping the malts at bay, but it does a fairly decent job. The palate falls somewhere between medium and full bodied, laden with sugars, yet somehow at least manageably dry. Carbonation is moderate throughout. Good brew on the whole, though this sweeter style doesn’t really tickle my funny bone. Cunningham (7969) - Halden, NORWAY - FEB 10, 2013
