Mainly available filtered in bottles, though part of the production goes unfiltered into cask.
The traditional brewing process used in the production of Traquair House Ale consists of the following; 1. Traditional infusion mashing process. The wort is then drawn off and boiled during which process the hops are added. 2. The wort is now cooled and pitched with top fermenting yeast under controlled temperature. It is then fermented in oak over a period of seven days. The beer is then transferred into cold storage tanks or barrels and matured over a period of weeks. After maturation the beer is filtered prior to packing.

An oaky beer, but balnced by nutty maltiness. The finish is acidic and makes you want to keep drinking more. A great beer. Scotland will continue to be a place to watch as their beers are finally showing up more and more here in the sates.

0,33 bottle @ The Oak Barrell, Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Appearance is dark brown with a small head - looks like coffee. Taste reminds me somewhat Irish coffee a cold one. Coffee like malts combined with taste of alcohol, but in balance. Very smooth.

330ml bottled 2016-06-28, best before 2026-06-28. Pour dark reddish brown wit a fast disappearing foam that stays as a ring. Aroma of classic Scottish Old Ale plus wood, roasted malt and caramel. Taste caramel, scotch liquor tickling and dark malt. Medium body and high carbonation for the style. Sweet and slick feel. Long scotch finish

Bottle. Dark ruby-red. Very malty, sweet, dark-fruity, strong ale. Treacly roast malt, lighter caramel, molasses, bitter chocolate balanced by hop bitterness. Whiskylike, smooth, warming. Great beer. (2008)

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Opaque brown-black color, smooth beige head that stays at 1", stripes of lace. Taste is toasted malt that blooms through medium fizz to a toffee and light hop finish. Full-bodied, rich, complex, whats not to like?
