3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours mahogany brown thick creamy off white head that stays
Aroma is sweet malty scent with slight hop smell in there
First sip is sweet malty: caramel and toffee notes a bit saltiness and a bit fruit like.
Very good beer. Don’t taste the alcohol much
Aftertaste is like caramel apple. Caramel fruit esters.
Murky cherry brown body, capped by an off-white two finger head. Aromas of cherries, brown sugar and tea. Sticky, thick mouthfeel. Tastes feature vanilla biscuits, red fruits, coconut macaroons, and toffee. A very nice Dopplebock. beerplace (1664) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 18, 2016
UPDATED: SEP 7, 2016 650ml bottle from Big Ridge Liquor Store at Motrych’s. Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is sweet, dark fruits, toffee, caramel. Taste is pretty the same. Roasted malt aftertaste. Very good. QcBeer (187) - Quebec, CANADA - JUL 17, 2016

Dark amber pour with puffy off white head. Sweet aroma of stewing fruits. Flavour is sweet with fruit and a bit of an alcoholic kick. Body is complimenting the flavours it is thickish. It has sweet after taste. Kauge (1949) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAY 18, 2016
Bottle from LCBO. 7%. Pours brown with red hue, head’s light tan. The aroma first comes across as black olives, then toffee and prunes, apples. Tastes toffee and caramel sweet with brown booze moments. Body medium, carbonation mellower side of active, finish a bit warm and somewhat dry. Overall alright.

22 oz bottle. Pours a deep red amber with a tan head. Red apple fruity aroma. Flavor has red grape and molasses. A touch of oxidiation, as I suspect this bottle is aged a bit, but it’s not bad. Finishes clean. Not bad at all. Papillon (400) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 10, 2016
650 mL Bottle. Deep copper-ruby body with a frothy beige head settling to a tenacious layer leaving spotty lace. Intense sweet aroma just about stings the nose; molasses, toasted malts and malt-mash being the dominant, crystal malt, sharp floral notes. Intensely sweet dark beer with an imposing taste that is more like a mix of blackstrap molasses and dark fruits than anything else, crystal malt aftertaste with an innuendo of clove, bittersweet treacle and hops linger tapering off to a likeable salty-sweet taste. Its best attribute is the mouthfeel but it struggles in all other facets. A dichotomous brew; I will not be captivated into buying that again. ChadPoole (478) - Ontario, CANADA - APR 24, 2016
Pours clear dark amber with an off white head that has some slight lacing. Molasses and plum aroma. Tastes of dark fruits, hops and chocolate that has a dry finish. Excellent beer will definitely have it again. Tranquillity (2321) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 2, 2016
Bottled. The body color looks like a coke, with a small light brow head. The aroma is sweet, licorice and chocolate. The taste isn’t full, but satisfying and very sweet with nuts and caramel. pootzboy (1735) - Kitchener, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 16, 2016
650ml bottle - pours a hazed dark brown with a 2 finger tan cap that lasts - aroma is slight until it warms then you get the roasty malt and some dark fruit yeast esters - rich mouth feel, big bodied - front side is roasty malty nutty then you get a bit of licorice with fig/prune fruits mid palate - long roasty wet finish - filling but nice
