UPDATED: MAR 9, 2011 Re-rating, March 2011 - many, MANY $5.35 bombers from LCBO: Either we got a duff bottle or they stepped their game up with what the LCBO is carrying right now. This is thick, murky, nice head retention, lovely dry leafy/resin aroma, taste builds slowly to a fairly powerful bitter and somewhat boozy level, thick mouthfeel, astringent, decently carbonated, has a really earthy dry bitter linger and aftertaste - I have bought 22 bottles so far, and will probably buy another dozen, if available - they’re selling fast.
Original rating 7+3+7+3+14=3.4 February 19, 2010 tasting with blankboy, garthicus, gregclow, jerc & mabel. 660ml bottle courtesy of jerc. Clear amber with an average off-white head. Slightly boozy and sweet aroma, some tart fruit, light resin, and an odd bit of mint. Taste starts quite sweet, with building bitterness and mid-level booziness. Sweet, sticky and somewhat still mouthfeel - nice, but it didn’t really seem much like a double IPA. DeanF (2527) - Quebec, CANADA - FEB 11, 2011
Okay amber-brown body with modest carbonation and barely any head. Lots of IPA hops on the nose, plenty of sweetness and bitterness and just downright tastiness. Flavour is a nice mix of hoppiness and a dry bitter finish. Quite drinkable, but hard to differentiate from a well crafted "normal" IPA, let’s say. ddemmingjr (890) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - JAN 29, 2011

Rerated exactly one year later with my wife and newborn...missing my first year in Mustang Powder but I held on to the best beer I had in BC for a year for a double take. Pours essentially the same with slightly less off white head. nose is more earthy malts, bread notes, pineapple fruitiness. this beer just has an outstanding nose. a fair amount of caramel malt sweetness followed up with a swift hop bitterness that fades away once on the palate.. Just as good as I remembered it at the Alibi Room up the street from my friends at Raudz. The bottle works just fine. Up there with the best of the DIPAs. paco (576) - Regina, Saskatchewan, CANADA - DEC 5, 2010
Bottle. Aromas of sweet and sticky caramel. Lots of caramel hops and some piney notes. First sip is a blast of great hop bitterness followed by fresh malts to balance this masterpiece. Great IIPA, I hope they make it often. Radek Kliber (7483) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - OCT 27, 2010

Aroma High sticky malty aroma with hints of amber malt , hop laced with alpha acid. Hint of bready malt.
Appearance thick murky with some floats. Medium , creamy beige head. 3+
Flavor and Palate : Mild , plus bodied. caramel malt make base quiet sweet. On top fresh west coast styled hop character. Texture was chewy. Alcohol well covered. Good big brew.
Bottle. Light resinny aroma. Cloudy orange, low offwhite head. Pine, grass, mango notes, resinny layer, light tinny resin. Medium body, oily mouthfeel. Grassy retronasal. Boutip (6533) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 23, 2010
Bottle: Poured an hazy orangey color ale with a large foamy head with great retention and some very good lacing. Aroma of pine and citrus notes is quiet intense. Taste is dominated by citrus notes with loads of pines and a slightly sweet malt backbone. Body is quite full with great carbonation. Very well brewed though maybe a bit too astringent for my taste. yespr (47567) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - AUG 17, 2010
