Thanks turdferguson for sharing. Pours a reddish orange with copper tones. The head. is a mild yellowish and a finger or two thick. The nose is hoppy, fresh, quite pungent, fruity, some grapefruit rind, sweet background, some precursor to the bitterness. The flavor is dominated by a pretty potent bitterness, grapefruit rind, spicy piny bitterness, some resinous hop flavor, earthy sweet malt background. The hops definitely need to mellow out on this one. The palate has a very waxy hop bitterness to it. Felt like an English/North Western DIPA, tasty though.

650ml brown bottle. Bottle #1899. Dark orange/amber in colour. It holds a nice creamy off white head. Some floaties. Fruity aroma, notes of pine hops and citrus. Noticable malt, but hops take centre stage providing immediate grapefruit flavour and bitterness, ending with piney notes. Long hop aftertaste. Medium body and carbonation, soft mouthfeel, very drinkable. Tree is going in the right direction with this brew, unfortunate that it is only a seasonal.

I was very excited about this beer coming out. I picked up 12. I traded 2 and this is the last one. Lasting layer of foam. Rich dark-orange amber. Stong fruity hop scent makes it past my cold. Very strong enjoyable hop flavour and lingering alcohol. Body is a thick with the malt to support the ABV and IBUs. The restrictions of 8% make me appreciate the lower ABV of regular Hophead for longer sessions.

Bottle #1717. Pleasant, citrusy hop aroma, pine. Pours a dark brown/orange with foamy off-white head. Very hoppy with strong lemon and pine, mid range malt. Alcohol is well hidden, this bad boy packs a whollop at 8%.

Thanks Voonder for this tasty bomber. A great hop aroma, with resins and hop oil galore. A feast for the nose, and the taste lived up to it. Understated carbonation, which worked tremendously to drinkability. The contents were shaken up and more than a bit spilled in very cold handling, but this robust trooper was most satisfying. One of the best of the style and not a taste bud killer.

bottle thanks to Oakes and Beershine. Amber pour wtih an offwhite head. Aroma is full of hops and christmas trees. Flavor is well balanced between some bitter hops and mats with a good bitter hop finish. Not bad.

Bottle Clear, dark amber ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. Earthy, musky, piney aroma. Full-bodied with a mildly oily mouthfeel and light carbonation. Malty and bittersweet, the flavor provides toffee sweetness and piney bitterness. Lengthy, astringent, grassy finish.

Big bold citrus and pine in the aroma with nice round underlying malt sweetness. Clear deep golden-amber coloured body is topped by a dense, fine bubbled, off white head that leaves some lacing. Up front malt sweetness is joined by aggressive hop bitterness with cirus and floral hop flavours and fruity esters in the finish. Alcohol notable in the aftertaste as well as in the mild warming sensation. Medium full body is somewhat slick in texture. Moderate carbonation. Finally a BC beer that is fit to stand with the hop bombs made in the PNW south of the border. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle. BCLS at Hellsgate. Dec-08.

Pours a dark orange-brown with a lasting but thin head and a fantastic dry-hop aroma, very pungent and very oily. Nice malty backbone but very, very agressive hopping and a lingering, astringent, alcoholic aftertaste. Thin crisp body with good carbonation. A bit too hoppy for me, and it does not hide the alco-burn very well, but I like the concept, and it is a fun sometimes-beer. Wish Tree made this more often.
