Slightly muted aroma, oniony/catty hop sweet smelling aroma. Dark brown, hazy, white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Flavor shows a lot of hop character, piney and tropical, with a malty middle and a slightly bitter aftertaste. Pine aftertaste. Not that assertive in terms of bitterness compared to other DIPAs. Medium bodied, medium carbonated. OK.
Appearance: Pours a red amber body with a 3 finger, slightly tan head and trailing it is a nice cascade of bubbles.
Smell: A bit muted but malt at the fore with a discreet bitterness and some fruit.
Taste: Mellow hops, sweet and a little spice to it. Hops bite at the tail end but not as strong as i would have liked. That being said, it’s very tasty and big on the malt. Some tropical fruit hidden in there, melon or mango maybe? As it warms, it has a sugar cane finish to it.
Mouthfeel: Smooth with a surprisingly low carbonation. Very well balanced beer and comfortable on the palate. AleRider78 (1046) - Winchester, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 12, 2017
Pours a very large amount of creamy frothy looking head. Has a slightly cloudy coppery appearance. Thick dirty lacing. Aromas of various hop varieties, like floral, spice and resin. Strong flavours and bitterness. This includes Citrus hops (oranges, lemons) floral hops, light roasted malts and a bit of sweetness with hints of caramel and toffee. Strong spiced touches as well. Has a creamy mouthfeel, slight tingling, fairly strong bitter aftertaste and also in the finish. Really good, bitterness on the palate that lingers and the flavours that stay with you for a while. 650ml. bottle shared with Quevillon. The color is a clear amber with a nice thick beige head. The aroma is of many hops, citrus fruits. The taste is as above plus pine notes. The alcohol is not overpowering. This is a great double I.P.A. Fandabidozi (4) - British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 6, 2015 does not count
Pours a nice orange colour which madme want to sink it down, but this was too happy for my liking and chucked most of it out. This beer is heavily rved about in BC but there was no finess to the taste, it was just too bold for my liking. radiomgb (2686) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 9, 2015
650ml bottle from the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario. Orange amber in colour with a mid sized off white head, good retention, good lacing. The aroma is of citrus, caramel, lightly sweet, pine and bread. The flavour is moderately bitter, some sweetness as well, hoppy with pine, cedar, citrus, oily and woody. Bitter mouthfeel, medium body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long, bitter with lots of citrus, dry. Excellent. Very good balance.

My Bottom Line:Randy4Beer (513) - - SEP 21, 2014
Soft but heavy caramel pours onto fruity hop resins in this warming Double IPA.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A gorgeous cloud of foam sits atop the cloudy amber.
-There is a date printed on the neck of the bottle, but it is very blurry. And black on dark brown... not very useful. In any case, this was clearly not the freshest bottle, but it was still on a store shelf...
-Bitterness is peppery and resinous. Intense but necessary to balance out the heavy sugars.
-This is undoubtedly a flavorful brew. But it’s lack of freshness makes it appear unrefined. No idea if it is as rough when fresh.
-Alcohol is prominent in the finish.
Pours a murky orangey brown, Thick white head, leaving nice lacing behind.
Nose is a nice blend of malts and hops, coming in the form of caramel and grapefruit.
Medium palate. Taste are reflective of the aromas, with some light sweet caramel up front, and a bitter citrus rind finish.
Overall, I would have liked a bit more of a hop bomb given the name, but it’s hard to argue with the balance this beer possesses. lesifflebiere (1852) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 19, 2014
