fresh can recieved in a trade. shared with a friend. poured a creamy chocolate colour with a nice mocha coffe looking head on top. nose is hit with a big dose of freshly pressed coffe, bittersweet roasted chocolate, roasted grains, chocolate malts, and a nice mocha hint. taste that follows the nose. but the mouthfeel was the best part. i had to check it again if this was really 5.4% incredible. such a full bodied mouthfeel. it’s thick, creamy, big a huge amounth of chocolate coffee. i am instantly in love with this brewery. can’t wait to get to try more of their beers! lovely

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: MAY 7, 2016 The aroma is complex and evolves as the beer warms. At first pour you get loads of roasted malt, while later the cocoa notes really dominate. The flavor is a bit more straighforward with a nice combination of both and added hints of black coffee in the finish. There’s a distinct yet well hidden citrus hoppiness that adds a nice layer of acidity. The lactose layer really softens all the rougher edges, bringing it all together and luring the palate into perpetually wanting more.

Growler, pours black with light head, and small amount of lacing. Aromas and taste of milk cocoa, roasty malt, chocolate, hazelnut coffee, and pipe smoke. Medium to fuller body but sessionable as fuck. Really digging this milk stout yo. Thitt ass thit.

Growler shared in London - picked up at the brewery five days beforehand. Pours rich brown with a thick, frothy tan cap. Great aroma, filled with milk chocolate, toasted nuts, hefty roasted malts and burnt marshmallows. Medium sweet flavor with dry milk chocolate, good roastiness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Great balance in the finish, more milk chocolate, adequate roast, rich toasted bread. Delicious and highly drinkable. Very solid.

Pours an oil black color with a decent, beige head.
Smells of a lactic infused and roast covered maltiness, with a decent rock sugar quality atop. Its profound malt bill features a nice toffee note, together with a layer of melting milk chocolate.
Has a vivid carbonation among a medium, truly soft mouthfeel.
Smells of burned sugar among a subtle, delicate coffee roastiness, coated up by a lactic tart note. Exhibits a great sweetness, easily balanced by the profound malts and a huge amount of cream. Finishes with a bubbly carbonation among more caramel and a cream coated roast.
Very well made, perfectly composed beer with a nice twist between, roasted malts, soothing cream and tart milk. Very smashable, while producing a great flavor intensity.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours black with dark brown highlights around the edges. Soft, khaki head. It’s a thick blanket of small bubbles. Great lacing, good head retention. Lots of chocolate in the aroma with some gentle roast. Nice lactic edge. Loads of milk chocolate. The taste is similar. It’s medium sweet with lots of cocoa flavor. The relatively mild lactic note keeps the beer from getting cloying. Plus, there is very little of the cola flavor that I tend to find a bit overbearing in other examples. Mouthfeel is creamy and gentle. They filled this growler right up to the top, leaving nearly zero head space, and the beer kept very well. Pretty much perfect for the style. Very impressive stuff. I’m not the biggest milk stout fan, but this is just how I like them.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Better than the higher ranked Ninkasi Noir, even without coffee. Nose and feel and look are all nice, but the flavor is near perfect for the style. The balance between roasted malt, bitter sweet and smoothly lactic is fantastic.

Drink local!... Pours a gorgeous black with retaining brown head. Aroma is milk chocolate, lightly burnt toast, and some caramel. Flavor is smooth and lightly roasty and semi sweet with a very slight acrid finish. Insanely drinkable and great. These guys are the cats meow.

A: Dark Opaque Hue, Passes No Light, Off White Head Ring, Some Lacing
S: Lactose, Coffee, Mild Chocolate
T: Coffee, Dark Chocolate
M: Decent Carbonation, Medium to Full Bodied, Mildly Bitter
Overall, for a milk/sweet stout it is disappointing as the coffee flavor is too powerful with a chocolate flavor back end...but a good coffee stout overall.
