341mL bottle which poured a clear amber color with moderate white head settling quite quickly to some very sporadic lacing. Aroma is of grain and some hops on the nose. Taste is moderate bitterness from the hops and some earthy nuttiness. This is a decent beer with some nice carbonation and a light to medium body and somewhat pleasing to the tastebuds. First thing, I’m not sold on this beer and I don’t think it’s all that appealing, but, with that siad, this is a pretty good beer....probally doesn’t help that I drank 3 Fish Tales 10 Squared either. Average abmer colour, offwhite decent head with some spotty lacing, ok retension thoughout and persistant effervecence gets extra marks. Aroma is plentyful with some fruity sweetness blending in with the malts and some dry wheatness. Taste is just above average with ok malts (good ammount), a hint of citrus...maybe, a bit dusty, but it does have some european quality to it. Mouthfeel is good with a very nice carbonation feel. Light to medium bodied with a faint bitterness and a short-lived malt finish. I think this is possibly a sub-par beer for Tree, but, I did manage to drink most of it in about 2 minutes, so how dissapointed should I really be? They gotta do something about the packaging though - it’s horrible.
I love Tree brewing easily my favorite Canadian brewery but what the hell did they do for this new beer “Rebel lager” lamest name ever with a crap ass two tone grey and red label complete with the lamest description of the beer and the type of person who should drink it on the back what the hell where they thinking, oh I think I know what they where thinking they tried to market a craft beer to white trash that’s what they’re thinking, retards. But now to crack this mofo open and give it a review. Body looks crystal clear copper sitting in my glass with a minimal cap that reduces to only a few bubbles in a moment, very standard looking but some how looks better the average. The aroma has a very noticeable hop presence, toffee like malts and just a tinge of metal, hey for a lager this is not to bad. Taste is malty and starts off a touch bitter then turns sweet after about two seconds in your mouth, very lightly hoped but they are noticeable giving a slight citrus metallic taste, however the malts come through way stronger then and of the hops. Clean and refreshing beer and I can see the average swill drinker really digging this brew and that is what I think that is what Tree is going for but the name and marketing for the beer is an embarrassment to the good people of Tree brewing they got to change this. Golden pour... an aggressive pour brought a full two finger head that likely would not have formed as heavy if poured more naturally. Recedes fairly quickly, leaving a full sheet of head over the brew and a thick lip of lace.
A distinct noble hops aroma. Simple, subtle, and pleasant. These are the aromas that I appreciate in a modest lager.
Noble hops, somewhat herbal. A gentle malt backbone.
Somewhat light, but a full flavour. A good session brew, and a nice beer all around, though maybe not particularly extraordinary.

My least favourite of all Tree brews I have had. Came in the Tasters 8 pack. Pours a golden straw colour with a large foamy white head which dissapates slowly. Aroma of mild hops and grass. Taste is medium hoppyness and crisp taste, but is lacking anything unique and is a fairly run of the mill beer. I would drink this again simply to support a microbrewery in Canada which I really like.

Bottle. Golden, creamy layer. Light almondy nose. Straw malt base with a funny almond note to it, no significant counter, light metallic edge. light body, quick finish. jercraigs (10651) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 8, 2007
Bottle @ the brewery. Crisp yellow body with a small white head. Very mild grassy floral bitterness. Mild grassy aroma. Average palate. Fairly clean, decent macro style lager, but its just a bit too bland. Beershine (5224) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 1, 2007
Pours with a nice thick foamy head. Slight aroma: metallic with some hop and fresh grain. Same with the taste. Quite bland overall but it’s crisp. There is nothing "rebellious" about this beer at all. JHunter (676) - British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 29, 2007
