3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
From bottle. Aroma is Toffee, vanilla and malt. Pours reddish-brown with slight head. Big vanilla taste up front that fades fast. Sweet, light-bodied. A little thin with a watery finish. Would enjoy stronger longer lastign flavours.
355 ml bottle poured at home. Pours copper with no head. Smells like caramel. Tastes like chocolate and vanilla. I really enjoyed this but probably wouldn't want to have more than one or two as it's very sweet.

Copper colour. Aroma is a whole lot of vanilla and some caramel. Taste is even more vanilla, but it’s overly sweet, sadly. cfrancis (3506) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 2, 2016
Thanks to Reimer for this. Pours caramel brown with a small white top. Aroma is sweet caramel and vanilla with a touch of nut. Taste is smooth mouthfeel, a little too sweet with caramel and vanilla and a small pine hop bite. Starting to give me a headache from the sweetness at the end. cmacklin (1240) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 13, 2016
355ml bottle. Pours a clear copper with a thin, short lived, beige head that leaves spotty lacing. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, vanilla and nuts. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, vanilla, nuts and light spice with a slightly dry, bitter hop finish. Light to medium body with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. Ok, but boring. UPDATED: JAN 7, 2016 Copper color. Malty and kinda flavorless. Some toffee notes. Very boring beer. Re-rate on tap at brewery at it is worse. Some weird nutty chemical flavors are going on. Cloying. Pass

355 ml can, Calgary, AB, Canada via coop. Artificial vanilla aroma. Better flavour, a bit mild with some caramel and vanilla. Medium finish with a slight hint of hops. BeerAndPonies (171) - Medicine Hat, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 20, 2014
355 ml can from Tree’s sampler 12-pack from Sobeys Liquor, served in my Dr. Whooves shaker pint glass. Pours a pleasant, clear, medium amber shade, with a creamy tan head leaving partial rings of lace. Aroma is strong and precisely like iced vanilla cupcakes ("...so sweet and tasty..." - Pinkie Pie), with banana and a middling scent of floral hop. The flavor made me grimace, being akin to drinking a potion containing artificial vanilla extract; bitter and syrupy and ersatz and just plain nasty. The touch of natural vanilla found in, say, Innis & Gunn offerings (my favorite in sweet, dessert-like beers) I find delightful, but not this gustatory kick in the goolies...my stomach is starting to revolt. Little carbonation to speak of and medium-bodied, and the ugly vanilla sticks for an uncomfortable stretch to the tastebuds. A previous taster said that if you don’t like cream soda, this isn’t for you; I don’t like cream soda, but couldn’t simply pick the three cans of Vertical out of my case, and felt I should give it an honest appraisal. Sorry, Tree Brewing...as with your Beach lager, I would suggest you retool Vertical into a much more palatable seasonal brew. Not recommended, not for being merely foul across the board like Minhas, but for being a failed experiment. I need some Pepto now...and a gargle...and a nap. Bottle. Amber pour with a thin white fizzy white head. Vanilla aroma with some spicy notes. Malty taste with a hint of nuttiness, more vanilla. Thin body and light carbonation. dfinney23 (3394) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUN 16, 2014
Pours dark amber with a thin tan cap. Aroma is nothing but vanilla. Taste adds some nuts and a somewhat metallic finish. It probably doesn’t help that it’s well past winter now. simonblaine (576) - Alberta, CANADA - MAY 6, 2014
Pours dark copper, minimal head. Aroma of cotton candy, vanilla, caramel. Taste is slightly sweeter than I like, heavyish, caramel, ends with a passing hint of vanilla.
