Nice copper pour. Aroma is caramel malt. Taste is smoked malts. Better than expected. Rated 2/24/04 TheGent (657) - , Massachusetts, USA - NOV 14, 2009
Maybe it is because I have been having a few really good brews recently but this was just really bland and boring. copper ale color with lots of lacing on pint glass. Some malt taste and a bit of soapiness. Bar wasnt very good so maybe they had dirty lines. in any case i wont be bothering with this again. Bottled. An amber beer with a huge lazing orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt and straw as well as light notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and toffee, leading to a dry toffee finish. Nothing wrong - just boring. Cletus (6368) - Connecticut, USA - OCT 13, 2009
Earthy and caramelly with some wildflower hints. More spicy than the others from this line. Not bad. BroSpud (2281) - , Massachusetts, USA - FEB 12, 2009
I have this vague memory of drinking Tremont Ale on tap at a place on Tremont Street in Boston. Back then I believe it may have been brewed locally and not by Shipyard but I could have my facts wrong with this. A more recent taste found it to be thinner and less impressive from what I remember.

12 oz bottle, labeled as Tremont Patriot Pale Ale. Thanks LooseCannon! Lightly hazed amber with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Lots of carbonation. Bready nose, mild malt, light earth. Mildly bitter earth flavors, mild nuttiness. Meh. Would be better if it wasn’t so weak. It’s like a BMC English... MarkBarnes (419) - Waterville, New York, USA - FEB 8, 2009
Feb. 8, 2009; 12 oz. bottle sampled in an English pint glass. Odd that an English style is (now) marketed as "Patriot Pale Ale!" Overall, this is pretty true to the commercial description. The hops generate interest (even if they are a bit sharp), but the lack of substantial aroma and somewhat-watery taste left the brew off-kilter and slightly disappointing. I’d rather have a Bass. 12oz bottle, Labeled as Tremont Patriot Pale Ale. Pours clear copper with white head which does not last long. Aroma sweet and roasted malt. Taste malt and light hops with bitter finish. mrant (330) - New York, USA - OCT 9, 2008
Smells of sickly sweet malts with some sweet hop notes. Taste is similar to the smell, sweet malts, taste odd, sort of like its skunked, but maybe not. Not terrible, excellent for the price ruggedman (647) - Portland, Maine, USA - OCT 5, 2008
Contract brewed by shipyard, so you know what to expect out of this one. Not exciting, basically tastes like a watered down Sam Adams with old hops and garbage malt.
