Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is chocolate, dark fruit, and caramel. Flavor is the same. Has a thin body and soft carbonation. Not a great imperial stout, but okay overall. zubblwump (118) - Michigan, USA - APR 18, 2016
12 oz. bottle. I gave this a shot thinking it might be similar to New Holland’s Dragon’s Milk. It poured super dark...so far, so good. Almost no head, but I did pour slow. Aroma was ok, but not great. Felt thick like it should. Taste started ok, but then turned bitter. Not a pleasant bitter, either. Overall...borderline ok in a pinch, but falls well short. Probably won’t buy this again. superspak (6011) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - MAR 28, 2016
12 ounce bottle into snifter, no bottle dating. Pours pitch black color with a 1 finger dense dark tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, molasses, fudge, raisin, prune, date, licorice, light smoke/char, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of roast/bready malt and moderate fruity yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, molasses, fudge, raisin, prune, date, licorice, light smoke/char, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Moderate roast/char and herbal/spicy hop bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, molasses, fudge, raisin, prune, date, licorice, light smoke/char, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Good complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt and moderate fruity yeast ester flavors; with a nice roast/hop bitter/sweet balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from roast/hop bitterness as well. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth and creamy/sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a pretty good Russian imperial stout. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt and moderate fruity yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. This is a little too heavy on the English yeast presence, but still does have some nice stout complexity going on as well. An enjoyable offering. markwise (5450) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - MAR 7, 2016
Bottle courtesy of kiefdog. Cheers, Kevin! Pours a nightmare black with a thin tan head. Nose is roast, earth, chocolate, cocoa, spice, earth, and sweet coffee. Flavor is similar with roast, chocolate, molasses, earth, roast, ash, and mild spice wi some metal in the finish. Light booze and bitterness in the back end. Interesting, medium-bodied stout with bitterness on the finish. SiviS (40) - - JUL 20, 2015
The smell of this beer was great, but it was a little sweet for me. Over all it is a great beer.

12 oz bottle, Ann Arbor, MI, USA. Jet black, dark brown head. Dark chocolate and resin aroma, some burnt coffee. Sweet, thick with a bright hop transition. Finish has nice alcohol and resin. AlabastorJones (815) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 29, 2014
UPDATED: JAN 3, 2015 Black stout, brown head with some lace, yeast nose with a bit of roast, flavor is yeast and some dark roast, tastes like homebrew - very yeasty and also like it might have an infection, sort of like if I kept this in storage and drank it in 6 months it would be sour Jamesthebrit (484) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - DEC 25, 2014
If look a could kill. Thick. Huge creamy tan brown head.
Smells like coffee chocolate. some acidity. Very well balanced.
Taste is like the smell. Hops come through a bit on the finish. As does the acidity. Chocolate is subtle. Coffee... Not so much. Boozy.
Palate is lighter. Acidic. Lots of hops.
Overall looks better than it taste. Not a bad beer. Not amazing. edgallow (4475) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 22, 2014

I can’t help but think of Warhammer when I see this beer. Its a brew worth of a dwarf. Rich, thick and strong. Lots of malt and caramel. Toasty finish.
