On tap at the Mackinac Island Draught House. Pours a clear gold with a near white head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma is mild with notes of hay, bread and a bit of biscuit. Flavor is mild with hay and grain and a bit of grass in the finish.

12oz bottle. Mildly hazy golden color. Thin slightly off-white head. Loose splotches and ropes of lace. Medium body. Crisp, lighter carbonation. Lightly sticky texture. Some grainy, bready malt flavors. Hint of pepper. Light bit of citrus. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter. Something tastes slightly off, not sure what.. But besides that, a pretty solid, easy drinking helles

Hazy gold with a short, off-white head. Light fruit, sour grain malt aroma. Taste is rather tart fruit, apple, slightly acidic. Very crisp and carbonated, increasing tart/sour. Not bad.

Pailhead (6539) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - OCT 22, 2010
Bottle: The aroma consists of yeast, vegetables, apple, and light sour citrusy/lemony solvent notes...certainly not what a Helles should smell like. It pours a hazy orangish-yellow with a small head that quickly fades to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor starts with a light sweet cereal and grain. The finish has some lightly sour and citrus flavors. Light bodied with lively fizzy carbonation. Tri-City needs to figure out their bottling issues. This is clearly showing signs of infection and itís not the first beer Iíve had from them thatís been infected. This would get killed if I rated it to style. On the hedonistic scale, the sour notes arenít as horribly off putting as they are just simply out of place.

Hazy golden honey coloured body with a pungent glow and a very nice frothy off-white head with larger bubbles - great looking, for sure. Aroma of fresh pale malt, lemons, coriander seed and a bunch of cardboard - not much else. Light-bodied; Sharp lemon and acidic flavour up front with a mild sweetness, a ton of sour lemon juice taste and some very mild tastes. Aftertaste shows the odd combination of lemons and light malt with very little else. Overall, an interesting beer - not horrible, but not showing the best characteristics of the style - light and citrusey for sure. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchantís in Dearborn, Michigan on 30-July-2010 sampled at home in Washington on 14-April-2011.

Cybercat (5741) - Georgia, USA - JUL 10, 2010
Aroma is strong with plenty of fruity tones and an undertone of yeast, slightly sweet. It pours a clear yellowish amber with a thick, if not persistent, cream-white head. Flavor is malty, yeasty and fruity with a touch of sweetness and a hint of hops. Texture is very smooth yet quite fizzy, leaving behind a nice tingle.

superspak (5508) - Michigan, USA - MAY 13, 2017
12 ounce bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. A bit fruity/yeasty in the aromas, but not overwhelming. Taste of cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, light pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/grassy/spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from lingering bitterness, increasing through the glass. Very clean on lager flavors, with minimal yeast notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, fairly crisp, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6%. Overall this is a very nice Helles. All around nice robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.
