12 oz. can as a trade bonus from JCB- thanks, J! Pours a pale gold color with a small bone white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, candi sugar, pale malts, dried fruits, straw, and booze. Flavor of apples, white grapes, sweet malts, and minerals. Tart, dry mouthfeel with a light body and moderate carbonation. The flavor hides the 8% ABV well, but the nose does not. Really unusual beer, and I had no idea what to expect. Would work well as a lawnmower beer if you want to finish with a buzz. nickd717 (4888) - San Francisco, California, USA - FEB 24, 2011
On tap at the brewery. Pours a surprisingly clear golden color with a one-finger white head that leaves a thick ring on the glass. Subtle aroma, mildly floral and estery with sweet malts and just a hint of Belgian yeast. Not too Belgian on the flavor - less so than the IPA in fact. Pale malt and fruity esters dominate. Somewhat sweet. Slick on the mouthfeel with average body and carbonation. Good enough, but misses the mark a bit style-wise. beernovice39 (3269) - Idaho, USA - FEB 14, 2011
Can pours a pale gold with a thin white head. Scent is wheaty and clove. Taste is coriander and bananas smith4498 (3674) - Winter Springs, Florida, USA - NOV 15, 2010

very good Belgian flavors and aromas with a little extra sweetness that distinguishes it as an American Belgian-style. didn’t seem very high alcohol

Nice strong malt flavor for a golden beer. The Hop is slight yet noticable. This is a great drinking beer. One of my favorites from this brewer. CelticBrew (912) - The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA - DEC 21, 2009
Pours from bomber a nice caramel malt presence coupled to a spicy hop and yeast presence. The aroma was esters dominate and fruity to accompany the spice and malt. The beer arrived crystal clear pale golden with a low lasting head which laced the glass. The flavour was fruity with a light bit of spice through the strong esters and some presence of alcohol. Caramel presence was fairly low. The overall taste presented as herbal and quite nice. The finish was dry with some lasting spice into the aftertaste. Decent Belgie made here in NC, nice. doboy (424) - Morehead City, North Carolina, USA - DEC 21, 2009
A fine Tar Heel Beer, even if it is made in Durham! It has a nice clean aroma. Pours yellow and clear with nice carbonation. It holds a nice light lacy head. It has a nice sweet caramel flavor. Great mousthfeel. Good Golden after taste that is somewhat bitter. decaturstevo (6343) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - SEP 29, 2009
Deep yellow with fluffy white head and lace. Bread, rock candy, and belgian yeast. Hint of abv warmth, nice finishing bitter. Thin and foamy kept this from being a much better beer. SpringsLicker (3677) - Tennessee, USA - SEP 21, 2009
Clear golden body with a small white head.
Candy malt aroma.
Well balanced, sweet, yet not cloying. The alcohol is very well hidden.
