Our 2010 Winter Warmer is our Habanero Pale Ale. This is a very exciting beer that promises to heat you up on a cold winter day. The Habaneros were grown locally from Farmer Needham’s pepper patch. This Pale Ale come with an enjoyable citrus and peppery flavor that follows with hint of warmth on the pallet. This is not in your face heat, but just what the Doctor ordered!!!

2/28/14. Draft at ACME. Very solid pale ale that us nicely balanced and sessiony. Pepper comes in on the backside with heat that bites but doesn't overwhelm. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught. Pours an amber color with a moderate white head. Nose has just a hint of habanero to it, but not much. Taste isn’t hot - there is just a slight spicy heat that builds, but does not overtake the beer. Other flavors are subtle at best. Meh.

Tap at Acme in Carrboro. This beer is true to its name but that’s the best thing I can say about it. The peppers (like many pepper beers) take over the pale ale and thats all you taste. Would be better suited in a stout or porter, me thinks.

cask at wwbf asheville was a little leery at first but this poured out a golden clear yellowish orange color with white head. the aroma of the hops and a bit of smoke. the flavor i thought was going to be overpowering but the delicate balance of the hops and malts and the habanero was on the back end and yet very mild. kind of enjoyed this.

Pint at Tribeca Tavern, Cary. Spiced and smoke. Little clove, smoke is the peppers. Clean, copper color. Small head, no lace. Bitter flavor. Lite body watery mouthfeel. Spicy finish. It’s ok. Not overwhelming spice, really hits on finish.

Draft @ the brewery. Pours a pale golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty weak hoppy aroma and weak spicy peppery chili hints. Fruity malty hoppy spicy warming chili flavor. Has a fruity malty weak hoppy finish with spicy peppery chili in the aftertaste.

Cask at Bull McCabe’s, with durhambeer and Magjayran. March 14, 2009. For this cask event, habanero peppers were added to this beer. And the result was absolute ass. I honestly thought I was drinking the blueberry white beer that was available, because there was this vaguely rank fruity aroma and taste to this beer. Nothing of the lively pale is at all present, just a rotting fruit mess. Only on a couple of swallows did I detect anything even faintly chili-like. Thin, off-putting, FAIL.

On tap awhile ago. Not much hops or pale ale taste... a decent amount of malt backbone, but more lager-like than anything else. Some slight citrus, but mostly ashy pepper all up in your mouth. Not their best.

Bizarre choice for a winter warmer. Lager-esque appearance with decent sized white head and straw colored pour. You get a hint of the spices in the aroma, but the flavor is full on jalapeno/habanero peppers. The spices really build in your stomach with each sip, which makes this strictly a session beer. I do not see how you could have more than a pint of this without being sick to be honest.
