COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kasteel Tripel aged in Cognac casks.

Thrill to that full, rounded taste, that delicate touch of cognac and the smooth, bitter aftertaste of this unique gourmet beer. Trignac is a real collector’s item. Only a limited edition of Trignac is brewed.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Gent, Belgium June 2013 consumed at home 08.07.13 in company of Casey, Traci & Loz I hadn’t realised that this was a Tripel until I poured it, seems rather strange to age a Tripel in this way. Pours nice, slight haze but golden with large billowing white head. Aroma is a bit boozy with some vanilla and yeast showing. Taste for me just isn’t right at all, I guess that there is a decent Tripel before this experiment but it just comes across as a boozy confusing mess. You can certainly pick up the barrel ageing in the mouth but I’m not a fan. Nice packaging, poor beer. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov11 3.0

Sample from the bottle at beer meets wood last weekend. Dark yellow with a hint of hazy and a large long lasting bubbly white head. Light sweet honey maltiness offset with bits of fruit earthy spicy yeast notes and that deep grape cognac flavor. A sipper for sure but damn tasty.

15cl from tap at BFGM17. Appearance: clear pale straw with medium white head. Aroma: white wine, grapes, apple, cognac, oak, lambic characteristics. Taste: pretty high sweetness and medium bitterness. Notes of apple, grapes, some apricot and cognac. Palate: medium bodied, oily texture and medium carbonation.

Bottle thanks to AJ. Pours a cloudy gold with medium frothy off white head that lasts. The aroma is strong wood, funk, citrus. Medium body, cereal, funk, spice, yeast, bubblegum, light finish, good.
