Our namesake beer, TrimTab IPA is a balanced, sessionable IPA that explores intense hop aroma and flavor without excessive bitterness. A huge amount of Pacifica hops are added in dry hop, which adds to this beer’s distinctive orange marmalade, rose petal and peppercorn character. Ripe citrus fruit aromas and flavors dominate, creating a beer that is an iconic example of TrimTab’s commitment to making expressive and complex, yet balanced craft beer. It’s an effort to answer the question, “what does it mean to be a Southern IPA?”

Cloudy and orange. Little to no head. Aromas f orange zest and resin. Very light in flavor and mouthfeel. A little disappointing for an ipa. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3/17/17. On tap at Southern Ale House. Orange pour with a nice khaki head. Surprised by this one! Nice aroma, hint of dank, loads of tropical fruit and citrus. Good flavor, doesn’t quite deliver on the aroma, mild bitterness, some pale malts and graininess, citrus, and touches of fruitiness. Not bad!

Pours a hazy golden color with a frothy two finger head. The aroma is quite nice. You pick up orange peel, pineapple juice, very citrus forward. It truly has a great aroma. The flavor is more of the same with some white bread. I also pick up some pepper and lemon in there as well. The mouth feel is light to medium. As the beer warms the hops become more profound.

Pours a medium dark golden orange. Aromas of citrus hops and a touch of pale malts. Flavor is crisp bitter citrus hop with a nice lingering aftertaste.

Can. A hazy gold color with a a white head and nice lacing. Floral and citrus notes. The taste is slightly bitter.

Amber pour. Small off white head. Little lacing. Aroma of burnt sugar. Dish water. Not much in the way of hops. Taste is a boozy sugary sweetness. Nor much malt or hops.

Trimtab IPA has a medium, slightly off-white head, a clear, amber appearance, some bubble streams, and a thin sheen of lacing left behind on the glass. The aroma is of floral hop resin, brown bread crust, and light caramel. Taste is of those elements, with a spiciness and strong, yet, not harsh, bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium, and Trimtab IPA finishes drying and easy drinking. RJT

Can pour. Orange color and slightly hazy. Big tan head, great lacing all the way down the glass. This is a local beer that they just started canning. Great fruity, hoppy aroma. Taste is well balanced between sweet malt and fruity hops and has a pleasant bitter finish. Great IPA and a staple in my fridge.

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2016 Hazed amber-orange with an off-white head of some retention. Aroma impression is overripe peach, apricot, candy syrup, tomato, with a very faint note of bile. Medium bodied and savory, semi-sweet with a prickly grip of finishing bitterness. The carbonation is fine and silky and the body has an enjoyable savoriness, but the aroma/flavor isn’t put together very well. The use of Pacifica confuses me, since the aroma is nothing like what I know of that hop from traveling in New Zealand (it’s like a new world Saaz strain, and this beer has that tomato stink you find in Summit).

DocJitsu (2115) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - APR 10, 2016
Pours a faintly cloudy golden with a dull white head. Citrus nose. Full and mostly slick with a faint carbonation scrub. Sweet, but not malty. Citrusy. Decent IPA.
