Cask, half pint at Lion and Key in Hull. Crocheted lacing from low beige head. Rosewood coloured body. Dark malty smell, caramel and bread. The taste profile follows suit with dark caramel, dark dough and with moments of dried fruits towards the ending. Well bodied. Fits the season very well (shared with Finn, 25.11.2015).

A complex beer with very little carbonation. Toasted malt, dark fruits, sweet malt. Goes down smooth. Youll feel the warmth of this beer.

Gravity cask at Bree Louise. Dark brown, some sediment floating around, small white head. Aroma - chocolate, malts, esters. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste - treacle, thin gravy, fig. Alcoholic finish. OK - for me its an old ale rather than a barley wine as stated on Ratebeer.
