Really nice stout, well rounded and was to drink, a stout without as much alcohol. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2015 A very typical mild if darker than most. Head is off-white and palate typically thin. Lightly flavoured with a hint of caramel although no roastiness that I could discern. Hop rate is quite low and finish is short. A likeable lunchtime pint.

Cask, Far From The Madding Crowd, Oxford. Deep brown, dense layer of fine bubbles. Lovely combination of deep sleepy leather malt aroma, with robust fruity esters. Milky cocoa rolling around in the background. Soft chocolate and toffee flavor a bit of earthy hops (though very low bitterness. Some late-season apples in the finish. A good mild is such a deeply pleasing beer, and this is a nice one.

Cask at GBBF. Dark brown, rocky tan head. Surprising citrussy hops aroma. Apples, citrus fruit, a hint of caramel flavours. Suitable for a mansion.

Hand pulled pint in The Crown Inn (Oakengates) on 29th March 2012. Lovely looking deep, dark ruby red tinge to the body: on top a rich, creamy, tan coloured head sat and stayed. The aroma was of mildly burnt malts with a hoppy undertone. The taste followed the nose but with extra flavours to savour: little chocolate and vanilla notes added to the roasted/toasted/burnt maltiness with again a hop presence that stopped the beer becoming too sweet or malty. Nice blend and a fine mild.

Classic dark mild appearance. Sweet malty aroma, with sharp fruity hop accompaniment. Smooth body. Hoppy and malty taste, both of which stay for the finish.

On the train from Hereford to Inverness, 2 litre PET bottle acquired from the brewery the previous evening, 18/10/13. Mid to light black, good sized light tan head that thins to a covering. Nose is light cocoa, dark fruity tang, treacle toffee. Taste comprises earthy tones, light cocoa, walnuts, dark fruits, toffee. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, mild finish. Decent mild, not at all thin for 3.7% and plenty of flavour.
